So, how did you get it if you didn't have to pay for it? I want to be in on that caper |

I need to do some airbrushing next, but on my current shift and with Friday's JBO it will be Saturday before I'm able to fire up the compressor _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Seems a pretty rum deal to me, looking at the fit issues you've had. Still, it looks like you're making an impressive rescue!

I've just looked back at the last page or so - you seem to have had many of the problems that I had. I can remember that there was a lot of jiggling about with parts, filling, sanding and then further modifications.
Regarding the Wing Roots, I got the root itself to match up as close as possible, although this left a large gap on the wing leading edges. I decided to permanently glue down the panels for the machine guns/cannons on the wing root as they covered up some of the poor fit quite well.
From recollection, the u/c bay parts caused some problems with the fit of the engine block which in turn caused problems with the panels. I shaved off quite a bit of the u/c to get it to fit a bit better and plugged up gaps with smoothed out filler.

From looking at your photos, I'd say that the end ring needs to be more vertical in relation to the fuselage - it looks like it's off on an angle. It took a lot of gluing, setting and re-setting to get it to sit at the right angle.

I can remember having the same headache regarding the panels as you have though, as the fit was so poor and the detail in the engine bay was too good to cover up. I found that taking the engine out made things a lot easier and I also ommited the fuselage mounted machine guns until the build was finished to get the positioning of the panels right. I ended up joining the panels into one removable unit, but I do like the look of your solution with the extra detail _________________ Owen

It is a good kit, I was impressed by the level of detail - I guess it depends what you interprit "good" as - for well fitting parts, it certainly isn't good but with a bit of work it all comes together _________________ Owen

Peeling back the masking tape revealed some overspray so I'll have to re-spray the RLM 76 _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Won't exhaust stains cover that little bit behind the cowling? Three pipes come out of there, IIRC. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |
