I'll be building a 1/72 Fw190 A8 and a 1/72 Fw190 D9 using markings from the various decal sheets I've accumulated over the years. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

| Tim do you require separate build threads for your FW190's? |

I think I'll be OK with one thread but thanks for asking. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

As there is about a week and a half to go I thought I'd post some pics.
Here's the A8/F8
box
sprues
nice blue instructions
decals
and the decal sheet I may be choosing an option from.
Dora
box
sprues
and instructions.
The kit decals have gone missing but I'm sure I'll find something to take my fancy on here..
or maybe here, which also has an A8 on it.
I rather like the D9 'Black 8' with natural metal undersides at the bottom of the sheet. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

Yes, I've got quite a few 190s in the stash to put them on too. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

Ayup Tim...
It seems to me that the deacals are worth more than the kits ! There are some expensive ones there mate. _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Not much to report so far. I've painted the cockpit interiors and started on the pilots. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

I really like you decals and colour scheme references. I must stop being a cheapskate and splash out a bit myself.
Tim, you might be able to help me. On the A/F 8 there's a hole in the fuselage, port side just abaft the engine cowling and just below the panel covering the cowling mounted guns.
It looks too neat and deliberate for a sink hole, and your sprue shot shows the same thing. Any idea what it is? Does your kit have anything to go in it? _________________ I'm very happy to believe that the excellent can be the enemy of the good enough. |

It's a small opening, difficult to spot on many photos as the area is usually covered with exhaust soot. In fact it appears to be a cover that can be open or shut as on some pictures it appears as a black disc, others a dark outlined circle. It is not discernible on all marks and may be a vagary of certain types of BMW engine.

After some problems with photobucket here's my progress so far. Cockpit interiors painted.
Pilots painted and waiting for their aircraft.
Looks like a pilot's JBO. If you're wondering why there are four pilots, see Models on the go... for details. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

Progress from last week. One set of wings needed a bit of assistance to stay together but I've got the airframes assembled and pilots on board.
