That's it - that's all I used - no other colour. To expand on it - if you paint a rough surface and then sand it back you get a 'blended' pattern. There's only 2 colours (moulded plastic - which is very close to actual seat colour) and the drab applied over it. When sanded the 2 colours look to have varying shades as the trenches in the plastic are a darker olive while the top is the original plastic colour. The 'in between' shades are actually the micro variations in the level of paint taken off. Hope that makes sense?

Yeah, me too! This is a first for me in this scale as well.
Anyway - (took more photos) with engine dry fitted (as you do) - I don't think anyone can resist putting some parts together 'just to see' how it will look! Anyway - enough from me - taking a well earned break for a few days!

Most impressive! Wasn't a companion Rolls-Royce planned at some stage?

Pretty much - just showed a work collegue and he mentioned about the inner front guard still having an ejector pin stamp and part number still visible with no dirt on it. So I'll have to do each part with the assumption any detail will show up. I'll do the exhaust a bit different too as looks same colour as the wood in background?
There's not alot I'd change as kit is really well moulded but I'll consider a mesh grill over the plastic one and possibly a scratch radiator too.
Just did a quick primer spray on chassis and tank which took 2 minutes but nothing further. Got the green to paint it - see how complex the shades of green gets!!

Chassis gets 'the green'.

Only if it doesn't work I guess
Here we go - these x 5 so this will take a while.... the knock on/off hubs are chrome plated but just caught the light
Probably a bit off but I decided to give it some scale and add 2 figures as well. 2 scale characters - I won't go into these but just to show.

Nice work so far. The figure looks like a Tamiya 1/12 Racing driver. He looks a bit like Emerson Fittipaldi. _________________ So many kits, so little time |

Ratch - you'll have to give bare plastic a try - especially planes moulded in gray which can be sanded back to look like primer - works a treat! As for Mr F1 driver he'll get a 'brylcreem' hairstyle - to add to his charm too.
Right - wire wheels - by far the most difficult task yet - minor flash and seam moulding to be removed from each spoke with a scalpel - so they took quite some time but the result looks quite good in the end.
Next will be the tank and suspension, at which point this will be halfway through the build for this kit! _________________ the evolution of the modern car is such it now ressembles a toaster. |

Well, put the rear tank and axel/rear wheels onto chassis - then for the front wheels which are slightly more fiddly.
Seems to be taking shape a bit now - initally looking at the sprue it really is a bunch of bits. _________________ the evolution of the modern car is such it now ressembles a toaster. |

Ok, haven't forgotten about this - still going. Alot of little parts that need painting etc before being assembled. I didn't think there was alot of point in showing a load of small parts painted up! _________________ the evolution of the modern car is such it now ressembles a toaster. |
