Roger,

I simply printed a picture off on a sheet of A4 and attached it to the wall as a backdrop, then pushed my base up to it at the right height to create the illusion of depth. When taking the picture make sure the light source is at an angle so as not to cast a shadow on the back picture. A vertical light then gives the shadow under the model, if that makes sense?
