Just to increase the madness, we decided to add another car to the GB. We were intending to send the completed model to Adrian for Telford as we all thought it was a 1990s issue but it turns out that, according to the History section, this is actually a 2001 - 2002 issue so we'll leave it to you all to judge whether it should be shipped or not when it's finished. Don't be too hasty, though!!! You haven't seen it yet.

This is the boxing - a series 7 which is a bit of a surprise but then it is quite detailed. We picked it up on Saturday in our LMS.

Sprues - the bodyshell is moulded in a rather fetching blue colour and the plastic there is a wee bit flimsy, which is a bad surprise . Again according to the History section, this is a reissue of an Aoshima kit. Also here is the glazing:

Chassis and structural parts along with quite a bit of the detail is moulded in black plastic.

Finally amongst the sprues, the interior is light grey and the wheels are a blinged-up silver - way too shiny for genuine alloy wheels which'd probably be more H56 than "overpaid footballer Lincoln Navigator silver"

We're planning a fetching little scheme for this beauty. The kit is supposed to be finished in two tone - either the kit plastic blue or the boxtop red and black. That's a bit plain for our tastes so the first thing to do is to negate that shiny blue plastic so it can accept a more subtle colour. As we airbrushed both the bee-em and the Herald, we decided to prime this one at the same time:

This one will be a true joint effort...

We've made a bit more progress with this one.  The body has now been sprayed white, which is still primer, as we're going to paint the body quite a pale colour, and with the original plastic being blue, we thought this was the only way to cover it properly!

Apologies for the scantily clad young lady on the newspaper to the right of the car!   I only realised after I'd taken the photo!

Pairing shiny cars with decorative young ladies just makes it more "just like the real thing"!

How can you do that to our youngsters, Paula?

Do we get to see more of her?

Happy build!

I do have to admit that she does seem to have quite a pert little bottom (I'm only jealous!)

Anyway, back to the Rav 4!

I had a day off yesterday, so managed to get quite a bit done on this build.

Firstly, here's the chassis, painted in H21 and H11:

and the rear axle (well I think it's the rear axle!) built:

The interior is almost ready for building, it's been painted in H128, and just needs a few details picking out.  The seats are H164, and the cushions are a decal, so that'll be added soon:

Finally, here's the chassis with the axle and drive shaft attached.

The interior of the body shell is now being painted, so, all in all, this one's coming along quite nicely.

This is coming along well. The underside is almost done, but the steering won't work as the steering arm snapped during construction.

As for the interior, we've got the decals in that need to go in, so this is ready for completion:

Here's the dashboard, which just needs the steering wheel to be added:

This is the interior with the "interesting" seat covers on the back seats.

Continuing with the "interesting" seat covers, here are the front seats, and the uprights for the back seats:

We've also got the first coat of paint on the body.

Looking most promising, Paula.

I don’t know about the seats though..

But they are not as bad as Heller’s decals for the 2CV’s seats.
If I can find them I will post a picture, they were simply too ugly to be used.

The seat covers are truly awful aren't they!  Still, it adds a bit of interest to the car!

The chassis is now complete so it's coming along really well.

Did the 2CV really had seats that ugly?
