That's looking very good indeed.

Looking forward to seeing it in camo, and the crew figure looks really well detailed.

Must agree with the other comments, a real work of art, certainly an incredible improvement. The figure really adds the finishing touch (AB Figures are splendid). Looking forward to the paint job.

Cheers

Thank you so much everyone for the kind comments - am travelling with really dodgy internet access but cheered me up a long way from home. I'll do my best not to bog up the paint job when I get back!

Travelling for work has meant no modelling recently    but finally had a chance to start painting the Tiger. This is the current state of play after base coat (Tamiya dark yellow) and green and brown camouflage (again, Tamiya) plus some basic painting of tracks, tools, etc. Next step is decals, weathering, etc, etc. Will try to take better photos of the next stage.

Well if this is what "started painting" looks like I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished.

I would love my finished models to look half as good as your in-progress effort!

Many thanks for the kind comments. In response to Sgt S's question:

Quote:

The yellow was from the bottle but sprayed over the white primer which made it much brighter. The red brown was just thinned but the green (XF-61) was mixed with a lighter green after an earlier attempt on another model suggested it would be too dark once weathered.

Below are a couple of photos of the more-or-less finished article. I will take some better photos asp for posting in the gallery.

For those interested, the markings are from the Bison decal set 'Panzers in the Bocage' and represent a tank from 101 SS Heavy Tank Battalion

Life in the old dog yet- wonderful resurrection of a pretty poor kit. Yet I remember when it came out and I cycled home in haste to assemble it. It was wonderful then. I recently did a similar reworking of this kit but not as good as this one.
well done U

Outstanding work.....As I've said elsewhere, if I didn't know that was the Airfix Tiger I kit, I wouldn't have believed it!

All the best
