Posted: Sun 05 Nov 2006 22:51 pm Post subject: History Section -Photo's of Airfix box-arts needed! |
|
|
Hello all,
I'm now in the position to start asking for help with images for the History Section. I will ask for specific images. If anyone can help I'd be gratefull. There are some do's and don'ts -due to copyright and ease of transfer to this site they are....
1, They must be your own photo. I can't use links to other sites including images on e-Bay due to copyrights.
2, The photo must be in focus and if possible taken at right angles to the box -either stand the box up and take it from the side, or, put the box on the floor and take photo from above.
3, Try not to use flash as this often causes flash bounce and wrecks the image with a big white dot. Take the photo during daylight. It doesn't matter if the image is a little dark -I can get round that.
4, If possible can you get your submissions to appear in this thread via your own imaging account (Picturetrail, Photobucket etc).
What I will do is copy them onto my PC then transfer them to the imaging accounts we have set up for the History section. Once I have your photo I will notify you so you can delete it off your imaging account if you so wish to save space.
5, I will acknowledge the owner of the image where they appear.
Hope you can help.
Cheers

History photo's needed for the 1950's
Here's a list of photo's I need. I'm only looking for box images at this stage not completed models -yet. (I may ask for those later).
Box images can be of any type as at the moment I don't have any images for the following....
1955 Southern Cross 1.480
1956 Rolls Royce 1905 1.32
1956 Ford Model T 1910 1.32
1956 Darraq 1904 1.32
1957 PS Great Western (small scale 1.600ish)
1957 Lanchester 1907 1.32
1957 Country Inn 1.76
1957 Detatched House 1.76
1957 Service Station 1.76
1957 General Store 1.76
1957 Bungalow 1.76
1958 Revenge
1958 Shop and Flat 1.76
1958 Thatched Cottage 1.76
1958 Kiosk and Platform Steps 1.76
1958 Village Church 1.76
1958 Windmill 1.76
1959 Trackside Accessories 1.76
1959 Fencing and Gates 1.76
1959 Platform Canopy 1.76
1959 Lifeguard Trumpeter 1.12
As you can see it's mainly the Railway range. So if any of you have any of the above kits take a snap and post it here.
Cheers

I've got only one on that list - the Santa Maria. Will get it scanned tonight.
It's scanned!

Thanks Dave.
I was in two minds where to put this thread. Although it does belong in the History bit, I wasn't sure if it would be a bit hidden there and I needed maximum expose to hopefully get some results.

Type 4 Lockheed Lightning P-38J
I don't look at the other "compressed" forums, as they don't provide an easy indication of which threads have been updated. If BAC hadn't posted this here, I would not have been able to help! |

Unfortunately, that is the problem with sub-forums and is a bug that is still being investigated by the forum hosts. I am making another announcement in the announcement forum to highlight this post.

BAC,
I can help out with quite a few and some in multiple styles as well. It will take me some time to get them all scanned though, so bear with me. I do not have the luxury of a Steve to be working from my home and he's the one pushing me for scans of the Ferguson Tractor instructions on the Airfix Collector's Forum, so I'll have to deliver those first or face his wrath!

Thanks Steven and Dave. Your images are now included so you can delete them if you wish.
Mario, there's no hurry but if you can help out that's brilliant.

I may have one or two of the Railway boxings up in the loft, but as its a total tip up there, it may be some time before I can lay my hands on them _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

I think I may have the Platform Canopy. Like Ratch, it's buried deep under my thousands of Model Railway boxes.
One Airfix addition that isn't on the list that I can get to is a mint boxed Airfix 'Intercity' Train Set. It's got the Class 31 loco like this. _________________ Owen

You might want to add these two photos of Kits before they get scootled away to some lucky bidder!

Will this be better? Apologies for the slight flash, the scanner doesn't work. Its only on the headlight though.

If you can would you be able to re-take without the flash? If it comes out slightly dark I can fix that.
