I sorted 12 crew figures identical to the kit ones from my spares box, and have de-flashed them and started painting all 15, beginning with the skin tones _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

12 spares + 3 in the kit = 15
Just as easy to paint them all at the same time _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Looking at the decals supplied with the kit, with a little modification I'll be able to mark mine as N4997, one of Silverstone's own
My brother-in-law copied an article from Flypast magazine April 2005 with an Anson 1 In Focus The aircraft featured is N4877 and has two (off-set) control columns Presumably this is a T.1 _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Looking good Ratch, just a word of advice, paint the wing locating tabs interior green, as they will be visible when attached! If they're green they blend in a bit more.

I had hoped to add the undercarriage after the under-surfaces had been sprayed, but a dry fit exposed this as a flawed concept So, the wings have been assembled complete with undercarriage Joining the fuselage brought a different problem in gaps Those on the upper surfaces were not too bad, but the under sides were considerably worse All have been filled, along with a couple of sink-marks near the nose When set, sanding will be done _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

This morning I've sanded back the filler I applied yesterday, cemented the wings and canopy The wings fit very nicely, no need to filler at the root of the main wings, but just a smidgeon on the port tail wing root _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Still a bit of tidying up to do before I'm let loose with the airbrush
The wing root is almost seamless but I need to do a bit of carefull filling & sanding of the seam near the canopy and turret, and fill around the canopy with PVA _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Pre-shading what? The Anson doesn't have any panel lines

Nice going there Mr Ratch.
Wish I had a Anson to join in with. Next time right?
Do you keep all your paints up side down? Don't you get nasty spill problems? |
