Maybe its just because I'm more used to using Hu: 29/116, which is definately lighter _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

This morning I've marked the canopy framing with my ruling pen, touched up the oversprayed yellow bits and added a rough tail balance and antenna spigot _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

This afternoon Gloss Cote was brushed over for the decals. I altered the decals supplied with the kit for the serials to represent N4997, and used the upper and lower wing roundels and stencils too. Almark decals were used for the R.A.F. 42” Type A1 roundels on the fuselage. The fin flashes were taken from Xtradecal sheet X044-72 RAF Roundels C Type, C1 Type & Fin Flashes. Microset and Microsol were used in their application, but unusually I had many problems with decals folding or floating away. The 4” serials on the port fuselage were replaced with ones from Ventura sheet V7252 I decided to fix the remaining parts before sealing the decals. I reconstructed the turret, and cemented the tail wheel, aerials and mast. Matt Cote was then brushed on. Finally, some thinly stretched sprue was used as the aerial wire, cementing the spigot end with Precision Poly and fixing the other end to the aerial mast with ClearFix and cutting off the excess
All was done
Conclusion:
This is my second build of this kit and although it has not been without its trials, it is a vast improvement on my previous effort. At least the mouldings were complete in this boxing (unlike my first build), and my skills with filler and sanding have improved over the last couple of years – it must be the practice I get Others in the Group Build experienced the same problems as I did with the side windows, and my technique for the framing (whilst not as tidy and clean as the decal method) was a lot easier than masking and airbrushing I must remember to dip the transparencies in Klear in future
I remain undecided about using the Xtracolor RAF enamel paint, as it is much darker than I’m used to. The minimal additions of tail balance and antenna spigot make a great improvement on the appearance. Although there was much swearing during the application of the decals (and my uncertainty regarding their authenticity), I am pleased with their appearance. Another big plus was the method used on the engine cowls and propellers – another trick to remember The single application of Matt Cote has resulted in a satin finish to the camouflaged areas, which is quite pleasant. Not the easiest kit to work on, but with patience and skill, good results can be achieved.

Very nice build Ratch, I do like the Anson in that colour combination. I'll agree the DE is very dark, if you converted the images to black and white the DE would be much darker than the DG - most odd! Still, you live and learn!
