Yes, here you go:

It is two pages, the first page gives a brief description of the machine and build. The second page is a set of drawings which are a great help.

Airfix Magazine December 1975 - Duplex Drive Sherman - Page One

Airfix Magazine December 1975 - Duplex Drive Sherman - Page Two

Both scans are full-size and the first one is quite large!

Thank you kind Sir, However I just realised that now having this article another visit to the LMS is now required to obtain an LCM and Sherman.

Hmm I suppose I could do but I have no idea in the slightest how to do this or what it looks like. Does the Airfix kit have the lowered screen detailed anyway?

There has been a pretty good response to this build so far with 6 participants signed up, there should hopefully be a good variety of models covered.

I am still undecided about what to build , I have LCMs, LCVPs, DUKWs, Buffalos and even a Sheridan (discovered recently whilst searching the stash) that is before considering any conversion possibilities .

It will probably end up being one of the landing craft, I have not had a go at the LCVP kit as yet and have not built an LCMIII since it first appeared.

Cheers

I was thinking of a landing craft production line, I have at least 9 of the LCVP and about 7 LCMIIIs. Just wish I had somewhere to put them all when they are built

Cheers

Stu

Looks a lot like a smaller version of the Sherman DD. IIRC the Airfix kit should be moulded with the covers fitted over the folded down screens as it's a very early (or even pre-production) version.

Just wondering would LCM III and LCVP count as they are not really amphibious?

Quite correct Luke, that is why I chose the title Amphibious Warfare rather than Amphibious Vehicle for the build, I figured that it would give a bit more scope and thereby allow the landing craft to be included as pieces of kit used for the purpose of amphibious warfare. That's my excuse anyway

If you check the main group build section the start date polls are below the Group Builds Plus section. I have signed you up to the user group so hopefully you should be able to see the Amphibious Warfare poll there

The start date poll has now closed, the Amphibious Warfare Group Build will take place between December 15th 2007 and February 15th 2008

That gives us 3 and a half weeks to gather our kits and reference material.

Cheers

Personally, this is the my least favourite kit to build out of the lot, I might bite the bullet and build my Italeri M4.

If you do, there's no need to cut out and replace the engine deck - Nite Mare II is without doubt an M4A3 which is basically what the original upper hull is for. But please replace the gun barrel, Italeri's is horrible!

Building it is also an excuse to watch the Youtube video I posted yesterday.
