Progress so far,

The kits bits and pieces, I was surprised that there was hardly any flash on my example.

So to start, I began by cleaning up the parts and the first problem to tackle was the mould lines on the engine cowlings.

I chose to scrape the lines away with a chisel blade, and clean up with a nail file cut in three along its length, I put a slight bend in the strips so has not to alter the curve at the rear of the cowling, finished of with fine wet and dry wrapped round a bamboo skewer to help smooth the cones round the cowling, which were well out of register, and then an overspray of gray primer to show any defects. As shown below.

Further progress reports, started to paint various parts of the kit prior to assembly,

It has been a while since I last painted crew members, so I started with the main colour of the uniforms RAF blue, Humbrol No. 96.
The life preservers, I thought the trainer yellow (No.24) was to bright so I toned it down by adding Humbrol No. 98 (chocolate) , just to give them the well worn look. The helmets will be painted once the rest have dried.

Now comes a method I have never done before, for fear of ruining the part for good.
After chopping off the raised lines on the side transparencies, I sanded them flush using a variety of wet and dry sandpaper values, finishing of with 1500 grade rubbed together for a very smooth grit., but this was still not enough to make them clear again, so I used my electric toothbrush with a new attachment and a blob of toothpaste, this done the trick perfectly (now all I need to do is find a paste without a minty smell).

"Don,t anyone move, I,ve lost my contact lens".

The squashed wasp in the middle is my first attempt at masking the glazing. This build is turning out to be a lot of firsts for me at the moment, and long may it continue.

Right, I,ve masked the turrent up. And marked the tape with pen lines and cut out the sections with a sharp blade.

Painted canopy

For the inside of the cabin glazing I painted some stretched sprue and attached inside with clearfix to represent the framing.

Joint line filled ready for sanding.

Joint line painted, then knocked back to check for join line, wings and elevators added. starting to look like an aircraft now.

The amber liquid in the glass is a beer from my Polish colleague from work.

Just a little bit of filler required for the starboard wing.

Then ready for first coat of paint

Underside of Anson painted.

Cockpit dry fitted.

I have inserted a shim of plasticard between the cockpit glazing and the fuselage and will use pva to fill any gaps.
Next step is to paint the first coat of dark earth.

O.K first coat of dark earth (Hu29) has been applied.

I have left of the engines for the moment because I have yet to decide if to just glue the props in place or have them rotate.
So it is of to the drying box for tonight, and hopefully the second coat will be applied tomorrow night.

Well I did not get the second coat on as I hoped, so I have fixed the cockpit glazing in place and filled any gaps with PVA, so once that has dried I will put the another coat on.

Added the green camo

Don,t know if it is the brown coat of paint that was put on first but the green went on quite smoothly when applied, but still needs another coat. Then I will add the bits and bobs to finish before giving a coat of Klear.

Added me bits and bobs, apart from the turret, all back in the box for the glue to cure. Will fit the turret tomorrow night and coat it with Klear ready for the decals.
Unsure wether to spray or brush the Klear on, my compressor has not been out of its box since  bought it over a year ago.

Coming along nicely! Klear is self leveling, so eliminates brush stokes. I believe the people who brush it on use a broad flat square ended brush. Apparently it's not worth the hassle of air brushing it on. I use gloss cote personally as I always seem to get bubbles with Klear.
