Had a mad moment last night when the carpet monster ate one of the HAC director mounting brackets as I was trying to attache it to the aerial. Ten minutes later armed with glasses, head torch and a very light touch I found it underneath my desk, very relieved.
Should get the rails fitted to main deck and get the boat / shelter deck fitted then can really get to town on sticking my prepped bits on, still reckon I can hit the deadline. |

well been fitting guardrails and ladders and very fidly it is too. But she is starting to look as if she is nearing completion, might finish on time but wont be rushing. Have had nearly a week away with work and its probably that, that has stalled progress still will give it a go.
Here are pics of progress to date

Very nice Chippy.
You're making me wish I'd used the PE doors and ladders on the superstructure. I decided the moulded on ones were probably better than I'd achieve with the etch, but yours do look good.
Hopefully I'll get some time on my build tomorrow...

Well nearly there, just about got everything ready to assemble, so might just get her done by midnight, its my daughters 21st so might be a push.
Still been working on the Bridge superstructure, foremast and am pleased so far. Rigging will have to wait until later though as my black paint that I use to colour the fishing line has gone hard, never mind. anyway here are the latest pics

Hadn't realised that the closing date was the 25th! I thought it was the 28th... was rather hoping that I might get mine finished tonight too _________________ Cheers,

| better late than never I say, a pity to rush and spoil all the effort, have learnt some valuable lessons on this build and if I hadnt been away twice with work for three days and two days, would probably have come in on time, didnt realise how many small fidly bits of PE were on this kit, more than any other Ive made, still she looks good |

| Cheers Ratch, just finished the rigging, not exact but just to give a flavour, after that ensign staffs, four 20 mm Oerlikon guards and a couple of davits and she will be done, pity Ive missed the closing date, but learned a lot from this, fidly bits take time, and assemble as much as you can in blocks also worked for me, like I said earlier, work gets in the way, roll on retirement!!!!! |
