I've got them all buttoned up ready for primer, so I'll take some shots of the wing struts etc in the morning, be  a lot easier than trying to explain!

My fit was pretty good on one, just a very small gap which I'm ignoring. On the other I had a large gap one side where the glue set before I could push the underside section in to get rid of the gap, filled it and sanded with no problems though, - using a small square file.

Well they're all done and I've just finished putting the first coat of Hu64 on as a primer. Here's some shots from before, with the strut positions.

This one fits pretty well, the top part of the upper wing was glued in place first, then the lower halves put on and pushed into the fuselage, (there was a slight misalignment on the outer wing edges as a result but this was easily removed with a file - much easier then filling a gap in this position). It does look very obvious in the photos, but I'm going to see how it looks after primer wether to bother filling it.

There is no upper slot for the rear inner strut, but I lined it up so it was at the same angle as the outer struts when looking down the wing - also leaves the door clear.

THe upper wing was fixed into place over some plastic tabs to remove what would otherwise be a very big step, there was a small gap to fill, but nothing major. The whole upper surface isn't terribly flat and level but it shouldn't be noticeable after paint.

A couple of additions to the build were a strut on the tailplanes in place of the upper rigging.

Also there is a small impeller(?) on the upper left wing which is the piece of plastic rod which can be seen in some of the pictures.

I've also added the nose light, this didn't fit terribly well and needed filing to get a good join, I polished it up afterwards and will mask it when spraying.

Filler showed up a few areas which needed work, mainly a couple of seams which had cracked under the stress of handling while being sanded down.

I've applied the first two layers of Hu130 Satin white, the humbrol white is giving me no end of trouble, I had to open up another new tinlet to get something sprayable! Once these are dry I'll see if a third is required, then mask off for the next colour.

Quick update, the twins are now glowing in persil white.

Once this is completely dry the masking for the next colour can begin.

I love the little comedy noses!

Both coming along nicely Rich.  Despite the dodgy beginnings, you seem to have had much less trouble with yours than me...

First one masked, the struts make doing it a bit of a chore, plus having two wings to do....

There's a dab of filler on the engine nacelles to fill a hole where a strut would go, as the nacelles are interchangeable.

I've been applying the Hu15 Midnight blue, it's proved to be quite translucent, so I may need a third coat in places.

Unmasked them, almost as much hassle as masking them up, I managed to break one strut and dislodge two in the process. They're a bit rough round the edges, quite a bit of touching up to do before gloss coating.

Slightly out of focus - sorry.

Wow Rich they are coming on very nicely, sounds like it was pretty time consuming and problematic unmasking.  They are looking awesome, You must have the patience of a Saint (o:  They are going to be very well received and looked after.

I've been working on the touching up, it involves all three colours so there's a bit of back and forth involved. USB port on the camera has busted so no pics until I get a card reader.

Cracking on with these two. The paint touch ups are pretty much done, just a bit more with the HU15 blue to go. I've done the props and I am painting on the yellow tips. I've painted the exhausts and wheels. I've also painted the non-slip pad on the wing outside the door.

Once I'm done with the touch ups I'm going to gloss cote ready for decals.

Touch ups have been completed. The props are on along with the exhausts. I've added the little prop for the wing top impellor structure. The comedy noses are back as I'm going to spray with gloss cote to prep for decals.

Whereas this one that I snapped at Yeovilton is on the port side.

Didn't someone say that they were retro-fitted?  If that's the case then I guess they could be put on either side?

Does seem to be variable,  "Valkyrie" had it fitted to the port wing. See link.
