The gloss cote should be well and truly cured by now. I've finally got the decals sorted out. The fuselage Rothman's logo was taken from the picture I'm working from, which is high enough resolution to get away with. Same with the Valkyrie and Para badge on the nose, which had the background colour photoshopped to match that used on the model.
The Rothman's logo on the tail was scanned from the top of a cigarette packet and some photoshopping done to add some filigree below the logo.
The registration code was tricky, I spent a long time searching theough fonts to find one which was a good match. Eventually I settled on one for the UK car registration plates. I made background of the Hu104 blue scanned into an image file from a paint swatch, then made the letters white.
Everything is printed on white decal paper to allow the light colours to work. Just got to cover them with liquid decal film and they should be ready to apply.

Decals have all gone on, some needed a second application due to colour runs or cracks. Once they have bedded down and dried I'll touch up and blend all the colours into the background paintwork.
I'm pretty happy with them, considering the size constraints and my printer.

The decals look excellent Rich!
Despite the problems I had with mine, I still think the Rapide is a very elegant aeroplane. _________________ Cheers,

Two layers of Satin Cote have been sprayed on and cured sufficiently to gingerly handle. I've removed the window masking and the comedy noses. A bit of touching up was required here and there. The floor porthole has been drilled out and glazed with Clearfix.
Rigging - YIKES!
Here's the spiders web in progress - where's Charlotte when you need her!
I secured all the lycra threads to the upper surfaces first with superglue and zip kicker. Then did the lower wings. I found it worked better to dab the wing with kicker and put a dot of superglue on the end of the lycra thread.
Once everything has dried, I'll re-inforce the joins with more superglue, then coat with Satin Cote to restore the finish.
Last thing to do is the cockpit framing and to paint the rigging. Having looked at the references the rigging should all be double with spacers, but that's well beyond my capabilities in 1/72!

Starting to look very special indeed Rich!
I can't emphasize enough how impressed I am at your ability to hack a decent model out of that kit!
All the very best |

Stick a fork in me, I'm done .
The twins together!
Quite a challenge doing a double header, enjoyable though! The rigging came out pretty well considering it is my first attempt and the home-made decals are holding up OK. Everything is varnished in place so should hopefully last.
I hope the recipients get as much pleasure from them as I have!
