What Ratch said. My Airfix 1/600 HMS Ajax was missing a propeller. They sent a replacement free of charge all the way to Australia. _________________ If you would like Airfix to release a 1/600 kit of HMS Dreadnought,

Hi, Dave
Please add my vote for a 1:600 scale Dreadnought. Although I model within a very narrow time range and equally narrow ranges in scale and subject matter, I would very much appreciate an HMS Dreadnought in the classic 50'/inch scale.
Her importance is such that I feel it would be only proper that Airfix--the ultimate Royal Navy scale model company of all time--should produce not only a kit of her, but perhaps even one with special packaging to include an historical booklet, etc. |

Shame we missed the obvious anniversary date on which to have one, but then again, it didn't stop the Falklands anniversary set...! _________________ circumveniat quod circumiret

With agreement of the moderators, this thread has been made a sticky. Now, what I don't understand is that there have been 12285 views, but only 60 votes! Does this mean that only 0.5% of modellers want a 1/600 HMS Dreadnought or there are 60 modellers who have viewed this thread 200 times each?! _________________ If you would like Airfix to release a 1/600 kit of HMS Dreadnought,

Hi Steven,
Likely many 'Guests' have visted the site and this thread. Even allowing for a few repeat visits from Forum Members there seems to be a significant interest out there. Now how to get this info to Hornby for consideration. |

Yes, even though I'm more of a coastal forces fan BIG TIME I agree a model of this ship would be very nice indeed, count me in please. _________________ Roger Pearson.

Thanks captainzlog! Up to 64 votes.
Airfix are releasing the 1/600 HMS Warspite and HMS Iron Duke next year. Perhaps this is to test the waters for WWI battleships. Just my luck, I had already bought both these ships on eBay, at about twice what the normal price would have been! _________________ If you would like Airfix to release a 1/600 kit of HMS Dreadnought,

| I would get a couple. My grandfather served on the Dreadnought 1915-17 and I would be proud to do one for myself and my parents. |

Add me to the list. It would be interesting to see how a 'modern' tooling of a warship would compare with those already in the range from the 50s and 60s.

Make it 68 votes, why no one has done a plastic Dreadnought is beyond me, especially considering her importance in battleship development. And while your at it, why not push for a WW1 Queen Elizabeth class, a Royal Soverien class and maybe a couple of German WW1 battlewagons, such as Konig or Seydlitz and even a Tennesee class battleship, love those cage masts, and they could even chuck in Vanguard, that would make a nice little collection, yep count me in. _________________ I didn't get to where I am now by being somewhere else! |
