Whilst waiting for the replacement canopy I have put most of decals on and mattcoted the model, leaving the very front without varnish. Here it is this afternoon

The colour is not quite right in the photo which was taken without flash. It appears green here but it is actually dark grey Hu27.
I have made a start at painting the rotors with Hu30 topsides.
The addition of the decals has transformed this drab model into an interesting build. This particular kit is 33 years old and the instructions/decals are not numbered for exact placement so some of those yellow lines at the back of each fuselage side may not be in the right place! Not to worry I am quite happy with it.

Got my second Sea Knight kit from Kingkit today.
Here the canopy is in place and has been given a couple of coats of Klear. I have attached it using two part epoxy. It is quite a good fit on the starboard side but not too good on the base or the port side. I had to use quite bit of Plasto to make it fit the contours of the fuselage. A lot of sanding down - I can only hope that no dust has got inside!?

Tomorrow or Wednesday I should be able to put on the frame lines using thin strips of pre-painted clear decal. Takes quite a long time to do but, in my opinion, it is the only way to satisfactorily put on frame lines.
After that just the undercarriage to make up and paint, finish off the rotors and add a few exterior details and about three more decals.
I can see an end to this build!

Here is the cockpit transparency lined with decal strip. I have spent several hours on this. I feel that it is getting there now. All that remains is some slightly touching in with Hu27 where the strips do not join exactly and the matt black section under the windscreen. I'll have to mask off the area for this. The whole of this nose area (except the tranparent parts) will receive a coat of Mattcote in due course.

From about 6 ft it looks OK!!
Next will be the undercarriage and then fitting the rotors. Soon the build will be completed.

Just about finished this Sea Knight. It looks better from about 6 feet away. Not one of my better builds. But I did enjoy it and offer my thanks to everyone who has commented on it, also my congrats to all the other participants.

Eagle eyed members may see that one of the rear main wheels is missing - eaten and gobbled up by the carpet monster!!!.
