Plodding on.
The pilot, engine and thrust nozzles are now all attached to the fuselage.
The instrument panel required some major whittling to fit into the gap available - I'm glad now that I hadn't spent any time detailing it with instrument decals, as most of them would have been lost. The thrust nozzles are also disappointingly loose - they rotate quite nicely, but if you push them they sink into the fuselage.
I've also drilled out the inlet doors on the engine intakes. A bit messy, but I'll tidy them up when I add the doors themselves.

Got back on Wednesday, spent most of the day comatose, then went up to the Lake District for a couple of days. Back now, and normal modelling service should be resumed shortly. _________________ Cheers,

Here's a quick update.
The suction relief door holes have been tidied up a bit, and I'll be adding the doors themselves shortly.
Fuselage halves have been glued along the full length, and some filler added on the bottom to even out a bit of a step.
he wing halves have also been stuck together, and are shown dry-fitted here.

Last night saw a major sanding session, involving the Harrier and the Beaufighter for the RAF GB. I've also stuck on the tail and engine intakes, then put on a coat of H64 to check the seam.
I've put the first coat of H125 on the bottom tonight - very thin, so it's going to need a few more.
Here's a question: The version of the kit I have has both Airfix and Humbrol enamel colour call-outs. One of the colours is H125/M2 - pretty close, with M2 being the equivalent of H27, so H125 is more or less the same colour in satin. However, the other colour for the camo, is H123/M17. Now as far as I can see, H123 is grey, whilst M17 is most definitely green. Which should it be - grey or green? _________________ Cheers,

The Harrier schemes I've seen are the Green/Grey camo as used on the GR.3's, a two-tone green on GR.5's & 7's and two-tone grey GR.7's and T.10's but no grey/green since the wrap-around ones _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

I was fairly sure I'd only seen grey/green on GR3s, as you said, with the two-tone grey on GR5/7s. Just wanted to make sure!
Wonder if that's just a typo on the destructions then? _________________ Cheers,

GR1's/3s were dark green and dark sea grey wraparound, apart from the early days when they had light aircraft grey under surfaces, or were in temporary arctic finish. 163 and 164 in the Hu range.

The GR3 has now had several coats of Hu127 and is not far off the second camo colour going on.

Moving on - second camo colour is on. Going to need a second coat, but it's looking good.
There's every chance I might finish this one on time... don't know what's come over me _________________ Cheers,

Still got to put the doors on, so they aren't quite finished, but they're certainly better than the unmodified kit parts. _________________ Cheers,

Well, the undercarriage is on, suction relief doors in, little twiddly breakable bits on, and I've managed to get all but a couple of the decals applied. Not going to get it finished today, because I've got a couple of dabs of paint to add and then it will need varnishing.
Should be done tomorrow though.
Oh, and I've managed to break off one of the outriggers AGAIN! Stupid things... _________________ Cheers,

And we're done! Finished last night, but I thought I'd wait for better light to shoot some pics. It's varnished with SatinCote, but the pics have come out really glossy - it's not quite so shiny in the flesh!
I'm really pleased with this one. There are one or two imperfections, but I'd say it's my best effort so far. The last pic shows the detail of the vector thrust whatsits and the thrust relief doodahs. They're a bit rough and ready, but I think they're a vast improvement over the standard kit parts. _________________ Cheers,

Cheeky young whelp! I've finished a number on time now... and anyway, in theory this GB finished on Wednesday, but I won't tell anyone if you don't! _________________ Cheers,
