Hi all
Started Sunday night and commenced painting the cockpits, engine bits and anything else my hands won't be able to paint once its attached to the kit.
One of the harriers is second hand and is missing its seat and pilot for some reason. So a short delay whilst I order a resin seat for it. |

Hi all, well after a week of inactivity and waiting for Hannants to deliver some parts (which they still haven't) I decided to press on regardless cannablising the T.10 to get the GR 7 on the way. I broke a canopy and lost bits to the carpet so I have bought another GR 7 form e-bay for £50p for spares to complete the pair of them.
I had a few fitting problems with parts 22 and 24. Part 26 is useless as the pegs on the tail planes are not long enough to fit all the way through.
I off course forgot to open up the locating holes for the refueling probe so this will be left off. I had to glue the nozzles into position as the parts which let them rotate are too big.
it is at the stage ready for the initial undercoats etc.
I have been trying to upload pictures of the build to the website but it doesn't seem to want to play. Anybody got any suggestions? |

Hi Thomasweir
I always upload my pics to photobucket first and then copy and paste them onto ATF after I've re-sized them. It's a bit time consuming uploading large pics though, so try setting the camera to 740x480 to start with.
Looking forward to seeing your pics. _________________ Modelling - Buy twenty, research ten, build one (eventually).

Finally the replacement resin seat and missing paint has turned up so will be hopefully starting the under coat for the pair of them this weekend. My harrier for cannibalising has also arrived giving, up its parts so the others may look half decent. |

Slow week this week only really managed to start painting the dark sea grey on the harriers and undercoat the resin seats.
Hopefully below will be a picture of the non progress so far.

Touched up the undersides and painted the tails. Flipped them the right way up. Only one has a slight learn to which i'll try and sort out.
Applied maskol to the canopies and will paint and apply them later this week. Still got the resin seats to sort out and try to fit in the tiny bucket which is the cockpit

Hi there
Been a slow week this week. Only managed to glue the canopies on the single seaters and mask and paint the frames. The humbrol 156 decided to dry hemp colour. So I re painted only to have a bout of number dyslexia and colour blindness resulting in 164 and 156 getting mixed up . Disaster ensued. Sorted now but once my tins are empty I'm going to get the xtracolour paints as they are the right colour to begin with.
A second disaster happened when i broke part 129 the rear canopy of my T10. Does anyone have a spare? |

Still to finish. Harrier T10 in 800 NAS markings. Its a soft top at the moment as I smashed the rear canopy but the resin seats look nice though,

Whilst waiting for the rear canopy for the T10 from Airfix to appear I have decided to combine all my spare parts and decals and assemble the Gr 7 I bought for spares for the other three. This will be in a RN what if scheme as if the RN had bought their own GR 7s instead of rebuilding the SHAR 1s into 2s.
Pictures to follow. |
