Maintenance Unit. This is where the aircraft would get a 'major' and where the re-paint would occur.

For peebeep:

About thirty seconds after I sent that last PM, common sense kicked in and out came the Trainer Yellow!

Cheers Paul!

Intruder Alert?
The Spitfire is undercoated and ready for painting:

Seeing the Spitfire in all over black just confirms to me what a truly, madly beautiful plane it really was!

All the best
PS - The Eagle Eyed among you will notice I have knocked the radio ariel mount off the tail.....I however, shall be completely ignoring it!

I honestly don't think any other plane is as beautiful as the Spitfire.
Hard to think of it as a killing machine.

I'm intrigued by the use of black as a primer!
Looking forward to seeing this built after recently finishing mine.

Unfortunately the shiny black is no more:

Just the camo, a few details and the decals to do!

For what it's worth & all the best

My Spitfire Mk Ia is as finished as it's going to get for the immediate future:

I still have to make some gun-port covers out of red painted decal and maybe add some weathering and an antenna, but this will probably have to wait for a while.

If I can get the Hurricane in reasonable time, I may be back for a crack at building that one too.....Otherwise, I think I'm off to build a few AA Guns!

For what it's worth, all the best

Cheers guys!  Cheers!

This was a quick and fun build, not entirely without challenges.....I highly recommend this kit!

Many thanks to PeeBeep for sending me the decals, colour plate and camo diagrams and to all you others who chipped in with advice and support.

All the best
