Over 600 done after the weekend.   And yes, Loll, several times I've thought 'why the hell did I start this?'...     Thanks for reminding me!

As always the best time for some smart face to suggest the other way is always when you are past half way already.

About time for an update.

Last weekend I finally finally finished drilling all the portholes, all 750 odd of them.  I don't know how Remy managed to do all his so fast!

Since then, the hull has been primed with acrylic white from a can, then masked off and the antifoul sprayed on:

And a closeup:

Next up - more masking and then I'll spray the black.

Paul

Thanks guys!

Nothing fancy with the sprays - the white (and the black you're about to see) are Humbrol acrylic rattle cans.  The antifoul likewise, except it's a dreaded PlasticKote spray, put on very lightly over the acrylic after an overnight drying step.

Anyway, more slow progress - hull uppers sprayed satin black (Hu85), and a base made out of wood and three large wheel nuts acquired from somewhere or other.

I've also painted all the wooden decks and made a start on the white upperworks, but no photos of that yet.

Paul

First update in two and a half months!  And no, it's not finished yet

The hull has had the 'gold' band added and the first couple of decks added:

For windows, I found an image file on the web for printing decals for the Lucy, sized to 1/350.  A bit of Photoshopping and the result can be seen propped against the base and on the first deck in the close-up below:

The windows are in the wrong places and numbers - but as the two sets of plans I have disagree on where they should be I've gone for an impression rather than a true rendition.
