With a last minute vote, the seaplanes win and Adrian avoids being a GB leader again - funny that

Actually it's good that they won, it's an area we haven't really done before. I do assume everyone will have the good taste to do the Anson Floatplane trainer from No.35 Sqn SAAF .

You can even join in with your Sunderland Adrian!

I don't know what you mean...

Anyway, I've got a Catalina that I could do - been looking forward to that!

From previous discussions, here's the list of 'standard' Airfix kits that would fit the bill:

Short Sunderland III
Grumman J2F-6 Duck
Vought Kingfisher
Supermarine Walrus
Arado Ar 196
Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina
Supermarine S6B

with possibly also the DHC Beaver, which I recall used to have a floatplane option.

On top of that lot, there's also the possibility of converting others into floatplanes (although I think Ansons should be banned).

I also seem to remember the JU52 coming with floats as an option in Swiss markings, although it was a very long time ago that I had this kit (back in the 60s) so it could just be my imagination

KingKit probably have most if not all of them, also at fairly reasonable prices as far as I can remember.

Just checked, they have all but the Walrus

Arado £4.99
Catalina RAF £9.99
Catalina US £8.99
Grumman Duck £7.99
Kingfisher £5.99
Sunderland £14.99
Supermarine S6B £9.99

They also have the JU52 at £9.99 and the Beaver at the same price

Cheers

Stuz, it is not your imagination the Airfix Tante Ju came with a floatplane option. It would make a rather impressive model.

If I can get hold of a Catalina with RAF Markings I might join this one - any ideas on a rough date as I won't have a workbench for a few months.

Awwww soz! Dogfight Doubles had the lowest number of votes. Not that it matters though.
