Thanks for the comments, I use Aeroclub Lycra Rigging Thread attached using superglue and accelerator. I dab a small spot of accelerator where I want to attach the thread, then put a small bit of superglue on the end of the thread. They join pretty instantly, then repeat the other end. I paint the thread usually with Hu53 gunmetal or maybe aluminium.
