Thanks Ratch but making very slow progress.
Finished off the aircraft (well 98% finished) and now working on attaching the floats. Space is a little tight and I need to work it one strut at a time.
In the end I opted for Hu106 and Hu30 upper surfaces. I can see that I will need to tidy up the paint work on the leading edge a bit. |

Well after a couple of goes the floats are now attached.
The top of the floats and struts were painted using Hu106 with the underside of the floats Hu56.
Model is now sitting waiting for the coat of klear to dry before applying decals. For this I opted not to use the decals which came with the kit. For national insignia I'll take them from Altmark's C1 Battle of Britain Spitfire and the P symbol from Sheet A23 Royal Air Force fin flashes.

Of interest Heinkel51, the Spitfire Mk.I Floatplane was regular green/brown top camoflage with black under the port wing and white under the starboard one with the rest of the undersides silver. The floats were DSG/XDSG tops with the rest of it silver, the silver came about two thirds up the float sides.
I tried to post the 3-view I have of it here but the file is too big, if you want to see it, PM me your regular email addy and I'll send it to you. I got this 3-view from Joe Francesco of Joe's Models in the States but where he got it from I don't know but the instructions on the sheet are in Chinese or Japanese with some English translation.

Cheers Robert,
From a image which is off a box top for a resin kit it appears that the aircraft was green/grey top surfaces with silver undersides including floats. However as the airframe was not completed I'm taking some licence. For an RAF operational fighter in late 39/early 40 the black white undersides would be likely, though prototype aircraft were normally yellow. One thing I am considering is painting the floats entirley in Hu56 along with the struts.
