I would be up for a Cold War Jets build. Plenty to choose from. Does it have to be an Airfix kit?

There's always the 1/48 version which might be around depending when the GB is timetabled.... is it possible to have too many TSR2's

Well I still want to do a Murphy's War Grumman Goose and it looks like the Seaplane GB will be long over before I get one, so I'd be interested.

All the best
BTW - Presumably if you pick something like 'Batlle of Britain' for your film, you would have quite a wide selection of aircraft to choose from!   quite

I know Airfix did the Widgeon, but I've not seen an Airfix Goose

I do seem to have 1 or 2 lying around somewhere. I may opt to do something else as I have already built 5 TSR-2's this year.

Cold war jets for me too - I have the USS Saratoga  F-4 which was the first kit I ever made, I can't wait to have another go at it some 32 years later...

This poll has now finished.  In a surprising turn-around, it looks like people would like to do medium bombers, then cold war jets.

Dan has volunteered to lead the medium bombers build, so I'll ask him to set up a poll for the start date.  It's a long way off, but any volunteers for leader for the second build would be appreciated.

I'm in Manila again right now and am busy in London over the weekend on (fun) business, too, so I'll kick off next week.

I'm guessing proposed dates will be 15th August (straight after seaplanes), 1st September (new school term) and 1st October (well, we need a third option, don't we?).

Will the Medium Bomber Group build be limited only to WW2 props or can I dust down the 1/48 Canberra B(1)8 ?

It would fall quite nicely into the Cold War jet build though

Thinking this over (plenty of time to do that on 14 hour flights from Manila...), I guess what we're saying is mid/late thirties through to mid/late forties to capture the Dorniers and Heinkels used in Spain or in the earlier part of the "March across Europe" by Germany (anyone out there going to convert an Airfix Heinkel 111 to a CASA built example with Merlins?!). It's props only (as Airfix never kitted the German jet bombers) but as usual conversions are always welcome provided that the kit is largely Airfix and a minority of "something else". As I said I'll probably do the Airfix Mistel - it's a bit "different".

If Adrian doesn't fancy it and no other victim volunteers I'll lead it. Might provide some impetus for me to try one of the 1/48 Lightnings I've got, although the 1/72 Canberra's might be out by then, failing that I have a B-57 kit in the stash.

So what's the next GB after the next GB after the next GB going to be

Ditto that - have these too which have just sat about. Could be the ideal excuse to pull them out and start gluing.

So Adrian and Richard, now that teh Med Bombers is well underway, are you going to soon be setting up a poll for the start dates of the Fast Jet build seeing as it's the agreed mil build after the Med Bombers?

I know I'm keen but I need to plan my builds!!!

Cheers,

Dan
