At what point can we suggest kits for a single subject build? _________________ Collectable kits built here. Baggies, blisters or boxed. You collect 'em, but I'll build 'em. |

TIA & All the best |
None in production at the moment Sarge.
The 1/32 scale one does appear from time to time on second hand dealer sites and Ebay.
The 1/76 one is also available from 2nd hand kit dealers such as King kit. As already pointed out these do have some problems with the turrets, obviously an ideal group build subject . I picked up a load of these from Vince at Models for Sale when they were in the special offers bin a while back
Cheers

This poll will run for 7 days, this coming Friday 27th June will see a new poll put up for the individual build should that be the favourite build type chosen from the list above.

I have gone for the WW2 Allied Tanks build, but would be happy to change for the convinience of others! _________________ I'd rather push a Dodge than drive a Champ

I voted for the "all make the same tank" as I would like to see how everyone would tackle the same kit in their own way.
If that were to be the vote winner (and whilst it's early days it's certainly the most popular so far) how would the vehicle be selected?
A poll for each vehicle in the range? That could take some time if the 1:24th Aircraft poll is anything to go by.
Alternatively we could narrow down by era (pre WW2, WW2, Post war).
I would prefer it if the subject was something that is still in production as I don't have any in the stash un-started and don't want to have to spend too much money or time trying to get a "rare" kit on eBay or the such like, however I would still try and get one. |

If this option is chosen it will lead to a 2nd poll which will list all Airfix WW2 tanks and give the option for a multiple choice vote, so if you have for instance a StuG III, Churchill and Tiger I in your stash you can vote for all three or just one of them.
The 2nd poll will also run for 7 days at the end of which we will see which tank kit has the most votes. In case of a tie I will use my vote as the decider.
Cheers

My thoughts exactly!
If the subject could also be tied in with OSL (or is a 1/72 Jeep or GMC) it would help too!

Ah, sorry Stu I have to confess to not reading your opening post too closely, I just saw option in the poll and went for that. |

No problem Paul, in truth I suspect that if the 'all build the same kit' option is chosen then I would imagine that an in production kit will be the winner, sadly there are not many of us that have the 1/32 Lee/Grant in the stash
You can still join in on the Willys Jeep build Andy over in Group Builds plus . I hope that the GMC will feature in a Group Build all of its' own sometime in the future.
Cheers

I really think just any WW2 Airfix Allied Tank would be best, just seeing Churchill after Churchill or Tiger after Tiger could get a bit tedious in this case, a broad overview could show how members deal with the problems of all different kits _________________ I'd rather push a Dodge than drive a Champ

only thing then would be the next poll for a tank build would be even more narrow! i enjoyed the Centurion build and seeing how some members changed and added things was awsome. I see the flip side as in trying to incorprate as meny menbers stash in as well. _________________ ACHTUNG-MOSQUITO

we only do about 2 per year anyway, I thought it would be a way to empty the stash a bit and add a bit of variety. Besides then we can start on the Dio GB and other stuff _________________ I'd rather push a Dodge than drive a Champ

Well it looks like we will all be building the same kit for the next Military vehicle group build.
I shall lock this thread now and start a new poll where we can chose the build subject. The list will include all Airfix WW2 tank kits(hopefully I will remember them all) and will give the option to vote for more than one subject.
Cheers
