Since I’m not on the WWW between 22-27 aug;
Please do have patience if you wish to join or have questions.
Things will be sorted out before we kick off.

And I will try to do my best, in this, my first attempt as GB leader.

Just a quick reminder:

The GB will run from 5´th. sep. to 5'th. nov.

Because of a question about what can be regarded as an AFV I found this link on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armoured_fighting_vehicle

Any questions are welcome.
I don’t claim to be able to answer all questions right away, but I will try to do my best finding an answer or a solution.

And remember: Just a week to kick off!

I can perfectly understand if there is confusion about the subject of this GB.

As Digs has pointed out:

If you look at the thread, it started as a poll with “Post WW2 Armour Group Build” winning.
Then the subject changed to “Post War Group Build” in the text explaining the possibilities.
Changing again to”Airfix Post WW2 AFV Group Build” when the header for the GB was chosen.

So I have made the decision: Approving all models in the category described in the possibilities,
but pointing out the original purpose was a “Post WW2 Armour Group Build”.

I hope this is OK.

I'm intrigued by the quote in the wikipedia article- "AFV's can be legged, wheeled or tracked"! Am I  missing something, or is it covering AT-AT's, AT-ST's and AT-TE's   . In which case it's a good job we specified post WW2 rather than just post war  .

I seem to confused everyone including myself

Having just checked back through the group build admin threads it seems that we started with simply Post WW2 group build, armour and AFV seem to have crept onto the scene later

I can only apologise for my ineptitude

Thank's Stuzzar for sorting this out.

I think we should accept any Airfix post WWII military vehicle on wheels or tracks then.

That would be the best idea

Sine the number of “in topic” models to build is somewhat higher now; the excuse not to join is equally smaller.
So if you are undecided, you have still time to join this great opportunity to do what you like most; build models.

So if you wish to join; you do it like this:

Please do not join if you are just interested in following the progress of the other members,
and you don’t wish to make a model yourself, all will be available for all to see; GB members, or not.

To take part in the Group Build:
If you would like to join the Group Build and haven't already signed up you must do so,
using the Usergroups link placed it the header at the top of the screen, just over your login name.

Click on "Usergroups"

In the "Join a Group" section, select "Group Build - Airfix Post WW2 AFV"

Click "View Information"

Click on "Join Group".

That’s it!

Once your membership of the Usergroup is confirmed, you will be given your own thread,
in the "Group Build - Airfix Post WW2 AFV" Group Build Forum so you can share your progress.

When you have decided what to build, and made it known, I will include the subject name in your header if possible.

If you are not sure how Group Builds works in general, you can read the rules here.

Thanks for taking part, and enjoy.
And remember, its fun to share!

With kind regards from Jesper.

Due to sudden private circumstances, my attention will be focussed on my wife’s health and healing.
So I don’t think I will be able to lead the group, or build my models after all.
Time will tell, but it doesn’t look good at the moment.

I don’t know if is right or wrong to tell about it, but I think I need to.
My wife, Annette got a blood clot in the brain this morning; she is stable, aware, but paralyzed in the left side of her body.
As you can imagine it has been a very stressful day spend on two specialized hospitals.
I don’t pray since I’m not religious, but I will gladly give away an arm or a leg to make her get better.

Jesper,

My sympathies are with you, don't worry about the GB I'm sure it will carry on. Best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery.
All my best

May I join Steve and Andy in offering my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Don't worry about the group build (I will keep an eye on proceedings) your wife's health is much more important.

All the best

Tomorrow the fifth November is the last official day of this GB.
Remember it is more important to finish later with a smile, than finish with stress just to meet a deadline.

I won’t be able to finish my own two models in time, and I apologise to all of you to be a bad example as a GB leader.
But as you know, life has rolled the dice of reality, and shown me more important things to focus on.

On the other hand it has been a great experience, and I hope I won’t be disqualified to do it again in the future.

Thumbs up to all participants

Thanks for suggesting the subject and leading the build Jesper, you have done a great job

My Sheridan is complete but am once again having problems with the home internet connection so unable to upload pictures at the moment.

Cheers
