Ayup All...
I can't believe I spent nearly 60 quid on 'Bits and pieces'. I spent only 4 quid each for a Frog Fairey Firefly and an Airfix F5-A Freedom Fighter Giftset, (Thanks Adrian for fetching it for me !) (Second one now... Aircraft recongnition skills are getting pants now !) and got a Frog Me 110 for free...
I also bought:
A 'Liquid Reamer' spray, a tub of Acrylic paint 'Dissolver' (for want of a phrase), for after Airbrushing, and an Airbrush cleaning 'Pot'. (my most expensive purchase at 15 quid). Also 2x large Humbrol Thinners, 2x 22 ml Glass Jars, 2 Mini airbrush 'bog Brushes'... 3 tins of extracolour PRU blue... (guess what for..?) and one each of too darned expensive (for my taste), Tamiya 6mm and 10 mm tape...
The ONE thing I wanted, a Badger airbrush reamer, was, of course not being stocked on the stand. but I can order online, of course. |

Point taken my friend, but some people may well just 'Stock up' on a one-off basis on annual occasions such as these. If Airfix had had Mosquitos for sale, I think a LOT more money would have changed hands and we would have been knocked over by eager modellers rushing back to their cars...
Mind you, i look forward to seeing what the 'Discounts' at shows will be from competing traders like, say Mr Models and Hannants or Andy Pack models, etc, for Instance. when the Nimrod came out, there were literally 'Walls' of them at Huddersfield with pretty good money off to start with. The one or two one could only pre-order from some online outlets was made to look silly, and other modeller friends of mine were able to negotiate larger discounts on multiple purchases. Very good ones as i recall !
But It's Horses for courses, innit ? i only had a very small amount of cash availiable and literally didn't 'eat' for 2 days. (not that i'm gonna starve or waste away !) and so i spent my JB 'Curry Munny' on my bits and pieces. My fish fingers yesterday was very awful though and NO substitute for a nice meal out with friends. |

On pre -order I got a set of Model Decal Wessex decals from Hannants,
a load of acrylic sprays and an Airfix Spitfire IX from models for sale and brought over from IPMS Zurich an Airfix Islander, Seahawk and Frog Buccaneer for £6. Thanks Seb.
At the Hendon show I got talking to a guy who had stopped making airfix kits and would bring whatever he had to hand to SMW. True to his word he turned up at 9.30am on sat with a bin liner full of airfix kits. Never ever caught his name but no doubt will see him again next season.
I must say with between eight and ten of us working the stand and buying products it started to get a bit like Hannants warehouse behind the stand. Often standing room only! |

Andy, (Sgt S), thanks for the CD. It was waiting for me when I got home from Telford this morning.
The PM facility had dropped off my screen again when I logged in this morning. It was there when I left on Thursday evening. I will just have to wait for it to come back itself as I have no idea of how to try to retrieve it. |
