Just a quick post to say that the latest fundraising campaign is now officially closed with one final cheque to pay in.  The total raised was £807.85 for the 2007/8 fundraising campaign - more than double the total raised by the previous campaign, 2006/7.

Since the first set of payments to our chosen charities, we raised a further £532.85 which is being split between them thus:

Medecins san Frontieres - £213.14 (40%)
Great Ormond Street - £106.57 (20%)
Cancer Research UK - £106.57 (20%)
WWF - £106.57 (20%)

Cheques will be sent on Monday to the four charities.  The final totals sent to each charity from the monies raised by the campaign as a whole were:

Medecins san Frontieres - £323.14 (40%)
Great Ormond Street - £161.57 (20%)
Cancer Research UK - £161.57 (20%)
WWF - £161.57 (20%)

A big thank you to all of you who have contributed in some way to the fundraising.

Dave

Well done to all!

However next years charity fundraising, Can i suggest that each charity what ever they may be, that they have equal amounts?

This years percentages were calculated in recognition of the contributions that non-uk members made during the last campaign. The 2006/7 charity was a UK one with a third of the fundraising coming from outside the UK, so I felt it right and proper that this time a larger percentage went outside the UK.

I will be reviewing all aspects of this campaign at a later date and arrangements for the next campaign will be announced once that review has taken place.

Just a quick line to say that during my recent trip away from home I have received thank you letters from Great Ormond Street Hospital, WWF and Medecins sans Frontieres.  Once I get the fourth one from Cancer Research UK then I will scan them and post them on the forum.
