Yep, it shall be rigged.

Just recently my sprue stretching seems to be going a bit curved (i'm trying to cut down on using 0.020 rod, finding uses for the other sizes in the pack can be troublesome)

Any tips?

Latest progress report:

Because of the engine mounting, and shadow shading camouflage applied to RAF/FAA aircraft painting of the model has been completed.

As this particular aircraft was transferred from Admirality stocks I have kept with the four-tone camouflage scheme.

Hu75 and Hu96 were used for fuselage and upperwing, Hu27 and Revell Aqua Color Bronze Green, 36165 on the lower wings.

For early war FAA I've alway felt that a green/grey finish looks better for some reason.

Waiting for rigging material to arrive, before continuing.

Slow and steady has been the name of the game. Waiting for my rigging material to arrive:

Then the arduous task of using it! My first time using anything other than sprue.

Not possessing a third hand or other such device, am unable to show you the attachment.

Superglue gel is used and the piece of wire put in place with plastic tweezers.

Once the central rigging was complete to my satisfaction, the upper wing was attached.

Very nice! I'm eagerly awaiting the finished article - won't be long now by the looks of things.

On your earlier point about the green/grey looking better for early war FAA, there's some truth in this. In 1939-40, paint stocks were low and availability was often poor especially in some of the out-of-the-way places FAA aircraft operated from, like Orkney for example. Approximations were therefore mixed up from whatever was available at maintenance units and squadrons. My book on the Blackburn Skua has some photos of a ditched Skua from the Norwegian campaign shows an aircraft with camo that looks more like ocean grey and dark green than ESDG/DSG, partly because of the non-standard paint's original colour and partly because of the differential fading between the two colours. Yours looks as spot on as its possible to be with such uncertainty on the subject!

I'll probably end up doing some re-rigging of older stuff eventually too. It certainly looks the part.

Being slightly sad I've worked out that in scale it's about an inch in diameter (0.3mm being approx 0.013in)
