well my ebay purchase from yesterday actually turned up today (good seller) had a quick look and so far so good.

I'll be building the Kingfisher here are the obligitory sprue and box shots :-

It's smaller than I remember but when you're about 10 everything seems bigger. Looks to be quite nicely moulded, only a few sink marks and only 1 deep one that is somewhere easy to fix.

Rivets are a bit big on the float but appear to be accurate, I'll probably just give them a light sanding.

Two options given 1 USS North Carolina Pacific Ocean April 1944 and 1 Royal Navy, East Indies 1943-44 this one however is shown with being a wheeled option and  therefore discounted for this build (unless anyone knows of a reference showing the float version used in RN colours?)

I plan to add a bit of detail to the cockpit and gunners station but other than that won't be going overboard (excuse pun!)

Oh just in case anyone needs them - yes I was supplied with two sets of decals so if anyone else is building this kit (or any kit that could use them)and needs a set let me know.

When's the start date BTW?

Voting for the start date is taking place here Paul, but it's looking like 15th June at the moment.

Managed an hour so today so have made a start. Firstly removed the rudder as I like to show this with a bit of movement, just for interest, and then removed the tab guides for the rear pit, I'm going to have to do some work in this area as I'm not happy with how it is OOB.

Milliput in the gap left for the wings so cockpit walls can be smooth (and yes I remembered to put a wing in while I did it so I still have a positive location when it comes to attaching them.)

Also removed bulkhead from the fore end of the gunner station.

How is it coming along? Always liked the lines on the Kingfisher.

slowly....

As is quite normal for me. Have built 3 interiors for the gunners station so far, none of which are right so got bogged down, number 4 is looking better so may have to just bite the bullet and accept it.

All my builds seem to go this way.
