Is anyone interested in a resin turret (based on Matchbox Firefly)?
If so, please specify what your particular requirements are (e.g. big/small rotor, loader's hatch or not, cast cheek armour, applique cheek armour, no cheek armour). Bear in mind that you may not get exactly what you want, but I'll try.
Cheers,
Bruce |

Not long to go until kick off, hopefully everyone will be forming up on the start line ready to go in a few hours time.
I have extracted a few Sherman kits out of the stash and have dug the modelling table out from under a mountain of paperwork over the past few days and am looking forward to getting back to some model making.
Looking forward to seeing some interesting work on this one, it has had some bad press but held the front line for us wargamers as one of the few Sherman kits available for many years.
Cheers

| Well, just to see how it's done in 1:72, I looked at my Extratech Sherman 1c, Esci M4A1, Trumpeter M4 (mid) and Dragon M4A4 last night. I initially reported that both Extratech and Trumpeter turrets were the same diameter as the Matchbox Firefly, but I was wrong, and only the Extratech turret is the same. All of the other 1:72 turrets have more or less the same diameter. If all of the Extratech kit turrets are underscale (i.e. to 1:76 - and I haven't seen this in reviews), I might end up making a Sherman 1b as well, using the Extratech turret on the Airfix hull. |

Despite a promise to myself not to join in any more GB's till I had finished a few more I could not resist the temptation. I'd like to join in with a conversion of the Sherman to a Skink AA tank.

| I was reading about an M4A3E2 "Jumbo" that survived 3 hits from an "88" at 800mm - two shots deflected from the glacis, one from the mantlet, but a fourth penetrated (through the sighting hole, I think it was). Internal explosion - turret blew off. The photo clearly showed the non-penetrating hits. It would take some conversion to make one of these from the Airfix kit, though. |

Just a few hours to go on this build, we have two finished Shermans in the gallery (nice work Spudgun and Sarge). I am certainly not going to make the deadline so will be continuing in the GB Plus section
There are some very interesting and involved builds underway so
how is everyone else doing? Anyone going to finish by midnight?
If not I will see you all in Group Build plus
Cheers
