|
|
Just been going through some forum statistics, and I thought it would be nice to share them to show what a success the membership has made of the forum.
As of today we have;
1384 Registered users
10333 Threads
112913 Posts, (an average of 126 per day).
I've also been working out forum views, the "Modelling Chat" forum alone has been viewed 506726 times since 21/4/06, which is an average of 566 views per day! . That's just one sub-forum, goodness knows what the total for the whole forum is!
What's more impressive is that we are a single subject dedicated site, just Airfix - all the time 24/7/365.
So congratulations to the forum members and moderation team on making the only officially sanctioned Airfix Forum such a successful and thriving forum - long may it continue!
Best

I think this all boils down to the hard work and efficiencey of the Admins and Mods but also to those knowledge and skill of all the modellers on this site.
Well Done Everyone

I have been a user of many forums on different topics, this is certainly the friendliest, best informed and most enjoyable.
A big thankyou to Dave Cov for setting it up, Ratch for taking it over and for the Mods and Admins for keeping it so.
A very big thank you also to Tim Berners-Lee, without whom none of this would have been possible.

This forum is indeed a great place, very friendly and well informed people.
As a newbie to internet forums I'm still getting my head round some of the terminology, please excuse my ignorance!
Can anyone tell me what "flame" and "troll" means in the context of these forums? I've seen them mentioned before and hadn't a clue what people were talking about! _________________ "It's life Jim, but not as we know it!" - Dr McCoy

Hi Badwolf
To Flame is to make a malicious post against some one, usually just for the 'fun' of it. What starts as a 'I don't share your opinion' swiftly degenerates into a declaration of war.
A Troll is someone who lurks (observes a forum), hides underground, then leaps out unexpectedly and makes a malicious post to stir things up. Whatever response they get leads to ever more malicious attack.
See also, 'don't feed the trolls', i.e., don't rise to the bait.
Hope that helps

I love this site, it has really helped me to calm my fears of not getting airfix kits.
Thanks to each one of you _________________ Airfix, Matchbox,Frog and lindberg....
