I've been modelling on and off for something like 45 years  :oops:  I had a break when I discovered girls, but when I got married I decided to build a model railway, and that's what got me back into modelling  8-)
Until I found the old Airfix site I didn't know what I was doing wrong  :? Now I'm trying to rectify all the bad habits I've acquired over the years  :(

As you'll see, I model a wide variety of subjects  :!:  although nowadays I'd say I am mainly a WWII 1:72 Modeller.
I also enjoy painting Napoleonic figures - theres just something very special about the uniforms. When I build ships they're mainly (almost exclusively) 1:600 WWII subjects. I've also done other stuff in odd scales but the vast majority of my models are 1:72  :D

Since joining the Classic Modeller's Club, I've kept a record of my builds. I note which paints have been used on what parts (this way, if I make another of the same subject it will look the same), of course some of the colours I used initially were incorrect, so suitable notes are added (when my errors have been pointed out) so that those mistakes are not repeated
I also try to be honest about the mistakes I've made in the build, again so that if I build another, those mistakes are not repeated

I think we have a terrific community of modellers who are willing and honest in trying to help each other acheive the best results. It's not treated as the sort of competition where person A discovers a good method and keeps it a secret from everyone else so that person A's models look so much better than everyone elses, but techniques are shared and the good models of others only make us strive to improve our own modelling skills
