I got the PE direct from WEM

www.whiteensignmodels.com

They have two sets internal and external, this was the first time I have used PE and have been very pleased.

They also have there own range of satin enamels which match USN colours.

Guess I have to stop building and go do christmas now

Past few days have been spent learning how to use an airbrush.

I have now painted my devastator in Neutral grey I used Humbrol Acrylic 129 mixed 50/50 with xtracolour acylic thinners.

The main problem with airbrushing is it does not cover up bad joints and filled areas like brush painting.

I have decided to go with a vac-form canopy from Falcon, so I'm now waiting the postman for this and decals.

Hopefully the neutral grey looks better when its glossed.[/img]

Just an update as I'm back at work building mini's now instead of Devastators.

Its almost complete I have ordered the Falcon Vacuum canopy from Hannents as i want mine open. I did try filing the airfix one down but it still looks too high.

The wingfold is not locked yet so I can bend it out the way to fit the canopies when they arrive.

Finally I must finish it with small details and final painting, I have been very pleased with the Starfighter decals they are printed by Cartograph and arrived very quickly from the States.

Nearly completed spent more time on the Falcon vac-form canopy than the rest of the kit.

Overall its been a very enjoyable build so much so I'm building a 2nd one this time straight out the box to be fitted to a stand.
