I started on my Landie this morning, firstly the body parts were cleaned up and assembled.

Followed by the axles and drivetrain.

Next I fitted the front panel after masking the glass off,the doors and canvas top were all sprayed black.

The green was then brushed on using Tamiya XF61,followed by the decals. It is finished now  I will put some pics up later.

I have decided to build a couple of normal control landies too,

One will be done as a standard 109'' While the other one has recieved some bodywork mods...........On the way home tonight I thought to myself 'wouldn't it be nice if there was a short wheelbase landie in this series'
Well what is an 88'' but a short 109''? After making a few measurments it was out with the razor saw,the result was this.

All I have done so far is the basic body mods, the chassis will be shortened tomorrow, the rear inner wells I might make from plastic card as they are not a great fit.

Cheers Andy
Today I got the bonnent and front panel onto my 88'' Also the inner rear panels were cut down and fitted.

Then the hardtop was cut down to fit (even though according to the box it is a soft top....)

Since it is a hardtop, instead of the canvas rear I made side panels from plastic card.

Next up was the trailer.

Last task of the day was to prime and get some black on all the parts.

Very nice chop job indeed.....These look like they have some real potential for conversion.

I had considered using them to make Landie based 'Technicals' for my 'Bananador' 20mm skirmish game, but I chickened out.

For wht it' worth, all the best
Sgt.S
PS - Hmmm.....Now that Airfix own the JB moulds I do have a good reason to ressurect 'Banandor'.  Think

Thanks again Andy,
They do indeed have lots of potential, six wheelers, there were a couple of tracked Landies coachbuilt too..

I am keeping these and the J.B. kits fairly tame though,as I want to build up a small collection of vehicles for a Belfast during the troubles dio...

I would highly recommend the JB/Airfix 1/76 Saracen kit.....If you don't already have it.

All the best

PS - Have you read Virtual Light by William Gibson?  I have always fancied building "Gunhead".
