I intend to build this Bedford GS because sentimental fool that i am ... i passed my airfield driving test when at RAF Scampton driving such ..

Roll on March 1st ...........

Well having given the kit a coat of looking at, there does not seems to be much involved with only a few parts and the fully glazed cab that will need a steady hand to paint .....

Better make a start then ...........

Pretty straight forward this build so far .....
everything came off the sprue easier than i thought with little in the way of sprue attached to the actual part(s). Highest number of parts is 27.
I have taken out/off the rear cover to the tilt and l will leave it exposed. Have painted the interior of the cab as recommended.

Don't forget the wing mirrors and don't do what I did (on the Bedford refueller) with the wheels, i.e. the hub on the forward wheels is quite different to he rear ones - I muddled them up and could not recify the problem withou breaking the axel. That's what comes of taking bits off the sprue for painting, but without checking. To me, a wheel is just another round thing.

Hi all,
Just about painted everything but the clear through cab. I'll be taking note of the wheel arrangement before i take them off the sprue, Thanks Gerry, but i have yet to weather them. I have painted the cab roof and hatch cover but will wait for a 'good' day before painting it. I have not used the technique of masking to paint such so it will be 'free hand'
Also got the rope ties to paint on the tilt cover and other minor details such as the lights.

More tomorrow all being well.

Well its finnished and i really enjoyed the build. Down side: no mirrors as per box artwork and also i had trouble getting the decals off the backing sheet. Tried all three registrations and ended up with only one!

That's a good looking job, complete with mirrors and painted down the the last wheel nut. I too found the decals to be a challenge, especially as they are so small, have fairly poor colour and have the red spot separate from the the blue and white. I ended up painting the roundels and union jacks by hand. You seem to have coped admirably. Tha background sets it off well.

Hopefully from the photo you will be able to see the material used. Staples, No.10. Ideal size for 4mm -72/76th scale. Item No.2 show the staple bent, No.3 show shows top arm cut to size and last show bottom arm cut to the correct length to sit on vehicle door.
Quite easy to bend and suitable for any vehicle in the correct size

I used Superglue to attach. Actual mirror was just a piece of plasti-card cut to an approx. size.
