Ratch - is it too late to join the Cold War group build? I can't see how to join it - there is nothing to click on in the 'Join Group' area of Usergroups. I would have joined earlier, but did not have anything suitable. Then like a row of busses, three came along in one day. This morning in an antique shop, I bought the Airfix F-16 for £4, the U-Airfix Mig 15 for £4 and how about this one, the Airfix Lunar landing module also for £4 (it's jet powered, sort of, it flies and it was cold war era). So I now have three 'jets' from the cold war era - I would go for the Mig 15 if I can still join in. If not, I will be a loner and build it anyway.

Any chance I can have another thread? The conversion kit for my Meteor Mk8 into a drone UMk16/21 has arrived.

All the best

It's becoming obvious that I'm not going to make the deadline on either of my builds, and I thought I'd try to explain why.  Our dog Ella has been very ill recently, and due to her advanced age (12 yrs) we knew it was only a matter of time.  I cared for her as she grew weaker and weaker.  Finally we made the decision to end her suffering.  She passed away yesterday in the back seat of the car as we were driving to the veterinary clinic, my wife beside her, comforting her at the end.

This is part of pet-ownership and it comes with the territory, but it's hard.  We still have one pup in the house, fortunately, or the silence would be overwhelming.

This is Ella.

Sorry about your loss Dan    Whilst we try to complete within time (you probably know) we're not fixated about it    Sometimes life intervenes    Ella will live on in your good memories of her

Hi dancho, sorry to hear of your loss, as Ratch said Ella will live on with your memories of the good times you've had with her.

I can relate to lost pets   still - no better way to go than lots of love and old age.

My delays are due to a severe bout of food poisoning - which sure isn't fun.... no fun at all.  Hurts to even lightly cough.

Dan, sorry to hear of your loss, and as has been previously said, she will live on in your memories.

Hangartime, sorry to hear you've been ill, hope you're on the mend now!

I'm not going to finish my Tomcat either, but I will in the new year.

Paula

Well the arrival of the new year signals a close to official dates of this very popular GB. Thanks to all the participants who have posted their work and finished models, it's been fascinating and enjoyable.

The GB will move the GB Plus area, where those who haven't had time to finish can keep us posted on their progress and hopefully we'll see some more great models produced!

Many thanks to all the participants!
Best

It saddens me to hear of your loss, Dancho.
And Hangartime, that sounds really nasty.

I hope you both get better/cheerier soon.

All the best from Jesper.

Thank you all.  I'm not giving up on this group build, but I'll think twice before I get overly excited and try to do two models in one group build again!

I'm not sure where to post this but this fellow in Canada is selling A COUPLE of Banshee kits.

http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/smrerail

I thought I'd mention this here because some folks expressed interest in acquiring one if they could.  Since he's selling two kits at the same time, the price should be a bit lower...
