Ayup Stu...
I'vejust finished all of spike's books, and i must admit they've left me feeling a little bit down (!)...
I think a quick shufti through this and 'The Throwback' should get me smiling again... (or is it the thought of going back to work tomorrow?) _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Those Tom Sharpe novels are hilarious! Paul Sample is best known amongst bikers for his 'Ogri' cartoon strip which is also usually a hoot.
Are you going to put a cartoon character behind the wheel Stuzzer?

My intention is to attempt to model the characters as shown in the Paul Sample illustration, not sure how they will turn out but it will be worth a laugh whatever the result
Vintage stuff is a great book to cheer yourself up with, it is absolutely hilarious. I remember reading it on the train when first published and having to get off a few stops early because I was laughing so much Must dig it out and give it another read, am visiting the in-laws in early May, seems like a good excuse
Cheers

OK, a little tardy of me but finally got this one under way last night
Following the instructions I started with the assembly of the body, the fit is not to clever and the ridge that runs the length of the bonnet did not look to good
I decided to sand the central ridge back and add a new one from plastic strip
Here is the new strip in place along with the radiator part, notice the wonderful injection pin mark in the radiator grill, impossible to remove
Here is the body assembly with the chassis sides now in place, a great deal of filling and sanding was required on the rear of the body
The lower body section, seats and front and rear axle have now been added, a little filler was required either side of the body where the weather cover behind the seats meets the body work
On my example, the frame work for the headlamps was broken and part was missing so I had to fabricate new bits from plastic rod, these are not exactly correct but serve the purpose. I also added a new one piece bar between the front sections of the chassis.
With a little effort the 'wings' were added, there is not real guide for the fit of these, much cursing ensued
Finally I test fitted the wheels, they will be removed to aid painting
All in all not a bad evenings work
Cheers

Ayup Bruv...
Sterling Stuff ! That lot would have taken me much, much longer.
Have you done this kind of thing before...? _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Thanks chaps, this one will probably crawl back onto the work bench shortly, I really want to give it a nice dark (probably black) undercoat but need to do it when Mrs Stuzzar is out as I intend to use a spray can and may get myself into trouble if she finds out as we do not have much space for that sort of thing
Cheers

The Bentley is all made and painted, just need to fit the steering wheel, and am planning to add a couple of small aero screens by way of windscreen/s as opposed to the lump of grey plastic that comes with the kit, these may not be strictly correct but I feel that they will add to the sporty nature of the vehicle.
Will post some progress pictures later.
Next up the sculpting of the two characters
Cheers

OK some more pictures of progress so far
Here it is with the initial coat of green over the black undercoat, I used Dark Angel Green from the Citadel range, looks rather natty I feel. I suspect that the seat should be black leather but I do love a bit of contrast so went for a lightish brown colour (looks a bit orange here ).
The wheels are yet to be painted at this stage.
In these two picture the job is almost done, the seats have been given a wash of a darker brown which has helped to pick out the detail. All that remains is to paint the wheel nuts.
Shame about that huge gap in the bonnet/hood, wish I had blocked it out with something.
And here is the finished thing, just a the aero screens to add along with the steering wheel and of course the figures. As you can see I have taken a little bit of artistic licence with the colours around the radiator grill but they do add to the comic/cartoon feel.
Cheers

Thanks Ratch, I do enjoy building these 1/32 cars once I get started on them, they come up quite well really.
