If you like those colours.....Try these:

I've finally got round to applying some camo.....I'm not even going to comment on what colour I had to use.

Suffice it to say I'm going to be doing some fairly hard core filters over the next few days!

All the best

It all looks like shades of yellow to me. Have you a sodium lamp in your room?

God only knows what sort of lamps they are.....Yellow mostly!

The models are actually in two shades of green.....I've toned the scheme down with an overspray of the base colour and a light misting of brown to simulate dust.  The filters should serve to make things look a little more convincing.

Looks like I'm going to have to sort out some new lighting before I can demonstrate any of this though!

All the best

Well I've managed to completely screw up the paintwork on two of my models while adding a dark filter-wash....For some reason all  of the pigment in the wash concentrated into tight little pools in all the wrong places as it dried.

If I'd been working on the models one at a time I could probably have avoided the problem, but as it is I've got to respray the lot if I'm going to keep them all looking similar.....I used the last of my rattle cans to paint them.

All the best

I'm finally back in business on my Vickers Mk.VIs.....I've resprayed the basecoat and will be adding a highlight coat over the top before redoing the camouflage pattern (Not in Hu.30 this time!   ).....I'll take some pictures at some point tomorrow, once I've got something worth showing.

FWIW & All the best

Yup.....The pics are still on the yellow side, but the camo looks a lot better:

The contrast between the greens is supposed to be quite low, but I'm hoping it will be just a bit more prominent when I've finished.

If it all works out, I may even take some pictures in daylight (such as it is at the moment).....Just for you Stu.

All the best

Is this closer to reality?

Yeah it's certainly less yellow.....I have a pair of lamps with daylight bulbs on my shopping list, they just ain't at the top yet.

Unfortunately I can't find any daylight bulbs for the (horribly mismatched) lamps that I have at the moment.

All the best
Sgt.S
PS - The darker green is Hu.116 if that helps.

Aiieee.....My eyes!

Well the dark green is about right, but the paler green is much browner in hue and slightly closer to the Hu.116 in shade (It's Revell Aqua - NATO - Oliv 361/46).

Anyway I'll take the hint and photograph the little monsters in daylight.....I'll probably do some more painting first though.

I have received an unexpected bonus.....A couple of identical lamps with daylight bulbs!

Here then are the true(ish) colours of my Vickers Mk.VIs!

Type A:

I managed to drop the middle one and chip the paint off the .50cal Vickers barrel.

Type B:

The pictures still look slightly yellow to me, especially the second one, but they are certainly a lot closer to reality than any of the previous attempts.

I shall be doing some more on these later on today all being well.

FWIW & All the best
Sgt.S
PS - I've just finished posting this and the sun has come out!
