As befitting my engineless forum identity (VX275 is the Sedburgh glider I first took a passenger up in) I'll be participating in the GB with the Horsa.
The fact that I have access to the illustrated parts catelogue for the Horsa might also be a factor.

Having now acquired Airfix's boxing of the ancient Italeri Horsa I've spent some time studying the instructions (like a good little modeller should) and I've noticed that whilst the kit still has its inaccuracies (some of which I will address for this build) whilst the instructions add even more.
From the instructions, Lord alone knows what the orientation of the pitot head should be as it appears to be facing backwards having been misidentified as being the radio antenna mast. Likewise the Aileron mass balances are depicted 180 degrees out. But best of all, the instructions would have you believe that the 18 inch wide D-day stripes are 63.5mm wide in 1:72 scale. The instructions are at least consistant as they mention this measurement SEVENTEEN times! Methinks the art department used 'cut and paste' without checking.

I've plainly spent far too much time in a drawing office checking drawings for this minor error to leap out at me.
It should of course be 6.35mm.

Ok so a slow start but a start made non the less.
Some extra detail being added to the interior and the tail section being modified to take the brake parachute installed on the Operation Deadstick (the Orne bridges) aircraft.

A lot of effort will go into the cockpit, which is likely to end up as a major scratch rebuild.

Good luck! I'll be following along closely with your modification suggestions - I have three unbuilt Italeri copies that I'll tackle one day.

Do you know if Airfix and Italeri use the same formula for their plastics? I've long thought Airfix styrene plastic much more agreeable to work with than many other manufacturers.
