Yes, I know the 2006 raffle has only recently taken place but I need to say something about next year's raffle now. Almost since I started the 2006 raffle in April, members have been suggesting charities for the next raffle whilst others have been suggesting various times for it to take place too. Now, the raffle takes many months to organise and hopefully my making an announcement now will allow me some time to concentrate on non-raffle matters until the end of the year.

I will be making an announcement in November giving full details of the timetable for the next raffle which will take place on July 2nd 2007. Provisionally, the dates will be:

- when nominations for charities are to be submitted (Jan to mid-Feb)

- when choice of charity(ies) will be voted on (mid-Feb)

- when prizes and pledges will be asked for (Mar onwards)

- when ticket sales commence (May)

- when draw takes place (July 2nd).

Whilst I do appreciate how much importance members feel about their own choice of charities, I would ask that they now wait until the dates shown in the timetable before nominating them. The final choice of charity(ies) will be decided by forum members and procedures for that will be published nearer the time.

BTW, I had originally planned to have an annual raffle with the 2007 one taking place in August 2007 but personal reasons means I have brought it forward to July 2007.

This thread is now obsolete due to the cancelling of the 2007 raffle.
