If anyone is doing the railbus this site is worth having a look at

http://www.railcar.co.uk/.

And a reference book for the 9F is "Riddles and the 9Fs" by Col H C B Rogers. Probably best to get it from your library as its hard to find, even second hand these days.

You've got me thinking that this site would be ok for anyone looking at the 0-6-0 Diesel.

http://www.preserved-diesels.co.uk/

Along with this one for shots of D2207.

http://www.nymrdiesel.co.uk/

Hope they both help.

Ayup Graham..

I must admit i like the Class 46 Diesel Loco. Its 'face' just looks so friendly !

Also i didn't realise that Sulzer made Trains... Well, OK, their Electric Motors. I know them through the Water pumps they made. we used them to feed our Boilers with water at my old Power Station. The sound of which, when starting up, i shall never, ever forget as long as i live... Happy Days...

Hi Feanor

Class 46s are great machines, part of the "Peak" family, classes 44, 45, 45/1 and 46. The Sulzer bit of them is the 12 cylinder engine providing 2500 hp. In the 44s and 45s the engine was coupled to a Crompton Parkinson generator while in the 46s a Brush generator was used. BR liked to dual source it's kit when it could.

I am a  member of the Class 45/1 Preservation Society, owners of loco 45 133, so i have a bit of a soft spot for Peaks.

Anyway to tonights link, which is self explanatory

Good link Graham

I should point out that today, Ground Position Light Signals (GPLS) display two red aspects horizontally for stop (the same as Limit of Shunt or Shunt Limit)  and two whites at 45 degrees for proceed (as far as the line is clear, being prepared to stop short of any obstruction)

Ayup Graham...

Another fine link mate. I have a Signal box near me, called Brereton Sidings on the branch line from (Ultimately) Birmingham New Street to the (Midlands Main Line ?) that goes to Manchester/Liverpool through Stafford. I catch it when i want to go to Stafford by train. It goes round the whole of Rugeley and affords an Interesting view of the Dump !
