Ayup Badwolf...

You haven't got any Microset on your brush either, have you?

Whilst i was Decalling the Stars Tender, i had to get some water to move some pinstripe Decal. when i dipped my (exclusively for microset) brush to the waters surface, it caused a litltle 'Ball' of something to go fizzing across the waters surface like a sodium ball when it comes into contact with water ! it got me thinking about things attracting and repelling...

you never know, you know...

No foreign substances have contaminated my klear brush, it's kept exclusively for use with klear (and kept well away from everything else    ). The coverage problem only occurred on the decals, the klear went onto the rest of the model normally.

I've now got the decals sealed under some glosscote which went on fine so I'm back on track with this build. Photos to follow.

Here's a few pics of the current state of play - decals on and sealed under glosscote.

Very smart looking Dora. The matt finish really suits it.

Thanks for the kind comments chrisbh and dancho.  Cheers!

I have to admit though the mottling was not airbrushed, the paintwork is 100% hairy stick applied. I used a small round brush with the bristles cut down to about 3mm (1/8 inch) length to apply the mottles with a stippling action.

Lovely work. A brush really can achieve a good finish with some good technique!
