Will you be tweaking the Sherman?
Just a thought, all the best

Not sure at the moment. The original plan was to build the LCM and a Matchbox Firefly (you sent me the tracks!) for the Britmodeller GB, but it never got done. What's the gen on Airfix Shermans (although I think we might have had this conversation before)? I remember that Brews has some improved resin turrets, also Stuzzar had a production line going with some added resin bits. I'm still planning on doing the Firefly and making a little A4 sized beach diorama.
Any ideas or suggestions welcome, my tread head credentials amount to diddly squat.

There's a good chunk of information in the 'Sherman Tank GB', here:
http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/forum201.php
It's worth having a fairly clear idea of where you are going before you start building (Otherwise you may wind up with a 'Shermanstein'! ).....OOTB the Airfix kit is (more or less) an early Sherman I (M4) with direct vision. The transmission has the shape of a single piece cast unit, but the details of a three piece unit. It is possible to kit-bash the Airfix Sherman with the Airfix Lee/Grant to get a decent three piece transmission.....I'm going to be doing just that for 'Bride of Shermanstein'.
For what it's worth, all the best

They're great aren't they.....So much fettling saved!
Good luck with your build.....It's not the easiest pair of kits in the Airfix range, but both can still look great with some work. All the 'how-to' examples you could need are available right here on the ATF!
All the best
Sgt.S
PS - I've got plenty of decals available if you want to model a specific British Sherman III.....PM me with details and I'll sort domething out. _________________ ATF Unverified Spam Appreciation Society - Founding Member

With not very long for this GB run - and for once it would be nice to stay out of GB's plus(!) - I thought I'd best get a move on with this. Most of you are probably familiar with the components but here goes in any case:
Resin bits courtesy of Stuzzar and very nice they are, too
I think I last visited these kits when about twelve years old - rather a long time ago!

Some progress at last!
Sherman suspension bits filled and assembled:
The little wheels drive you mad!
LCM major components cleaned up and treatment to the pesky sink marks:
