|
|
Hi All
Welcome to the Airfix Cars 2009 Group Build of which I am Group Build Leader. The build starts on 15th July and ends on 15th September.
This is the "Chat" thread for the GB, any reference material should be posted in the "Reference" thread.
The only rule for this Group Build is that it has to be based on an Airfix Car in any scale.
If you would like to take part in the Group Build and haven't already signed up you must do so using the Usergroups link at the top of the screen (above the Log in/Log out link).
Important: You should not sign up as participant of a Group Build if you only want to view the threads, they will be available for all to see.
To take part in the Group Build:
Click on "Usergroups"
In the "Join a Group" section, select "Group Build - Airfix Cars 2009"
Click "View Information"
Click on "Join Group".
Once your membership of the Usergroup is confirmed, you will be given your own thread in the Airfix Cars 2009 Group Build Forum to post details of your build.
That's all there is to it!
If you are not sure how Group Builds work, you can read the rules here.
Thanks for taking part

And we're off from midnight tonight!

I've just dug out the Mini and E-Type I bought in one of Vince's Lucky Dips a couple of years ago to take sprue shots, and discovered both have been started (a few bits have been stuck together) and, unless I'm mistaken, there are parts missing on both _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Doh!
Just how "started" is the Mini? Too far gone to be overlooked?
Maybe you'll be able to find something in Boston tomorrow...?

The Mini doesn't really look that started to me In facy, I can't really see what's been done Is it just the dash that's been painted? Is it missing stuff as well? That can't be scratchbuilt? Is the back window missing?
I mean, in all honesty, I'd say do it for the build if it's not missing anything critical or that can't be scratched.
I can see that the E-type has been started though.... the seats into the chassis and the subframe at the front.

Not so bad as first suspected
Three of the steering components have been placed (not glued) in position - so its a goer as far as I'm concerned
As you say, the Jag is a bit too far _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

Doh! I've missed the start date for this GB and I've started another kit (I even forgot to sign up). I'll get organised once my Airfix Mitchell is finished. _________________ Collectable kits built here. Baggies, blisters or boxed. You collect 'em, but I'll build 'em. |

Don't worry Spudgun sign up when you're ready, and I'll set your thread up.

Not bad - I reckon we have 10 completions within the "official" two month build period. That's pretty good!
I hope the other guys will continue their builds!

| I haven't finished my TR4A yet, but I'm plodding on regardless. I had a setback with the paintwork, which entailed stripping it back to the plastic. I hope to finish by the weekend, though. |

I am still plodding on with my Alfa too, but work has got in the way of modelling, which I know is disgraceful, but I will get there.
