Maybe the Pavla kit is a better bet after all.....It's a Roc that I really want anyway.

It's a million times better Sarge. The cowling comment is spot on ROTFL

It's good enough for me though, & I do like the decal options.

Two coats of Revell white airbrushed onto the helicopter and the two stretcher pods...

The Pavla Roc is a gem Sarge, if a little tricky in the construction. Most of the turret fittings including guns need to be scratchbuilt. This was why mine ended up as a secondline aircraft!

I get the impression that Pavla's stuff can be both a bit tricky and somewhat variable in quality.  I was sorely tempted by this (For Squarehead's ever enlarging VVS):

But the various reviews I found panned it!

As one set of the two sheets of decals is missing - the one with the blue pinstripe on it - the Kamov has been masked up and I've applied three thin coats of H15 to it. Progress with this is a lot slower than I'd have liked!

I really hate it when real life gets in the way of modelling! That's been very much the case here, I'm afraid. However, I have been doing bits and pieces to it over time. The underside is the grey it needs to be (I used H165) and I've done a fair bit of touching and re-touching. Yesterday the fuselage had 2 coats of Klear and now looks like this (doesn't bare close scrutiny, I'm afraid!)

Yesterday I also put the two main rotors together and I hope to be able to actually put the whole thing together in the next day or so - but who knows!

Nice looking chopper, Dan.

How is your overall impression on the kit?
I has been tempted to add the version with floats to my stash.

In a word, Jesper... "horrific".

It's dreadful. The mouldings are awful, the fit is terrible and I had some decals missing. I've just put some of the dcals I do have onto the model and the broke up as soon as I took them out of the water.

I'd avoid it - unless you absolutely, positively, must have a Ka-15 - as there's no alternative!

I hope they're not all like that.....I've bought a bunch of A-Model kits recently!

I have to say that you have made a fine job of that little tadpole!

All the best

It's not bad considering the size of the thing - I mean, that Landy 1 tonne ambulance I just finished dwarfs it!

Gosh, was it really May when I last did anything to this? Well, the thing has a lot more solid white above the blue stripe, a couple of coats of Klear and decals now - but I still haven't gathered the strength to build the rotor assembly

I think I'll have to take a deep breath and have a pop at it this weekend...

...as promised.

I've finally had the guts to assemble and (mostly) paint the rotor assembly:

Looks like we're off again!

Thanks dinotramp...

I'm going to declare this thing finished - not one of my finest hours!

And now over to someone else - it's been mighty lonely in here for a number of months!

It turned out quite good Dan despite your problems.

My Leduc 021 is put away at the moment, but I had nearly covered the whole airframe with metallic tape before I did.

This is back on the go, for a group build on the UAMF

I resumed with the canopy masking, an absolute pig of a job, still needs minor corrections after 2 hours!

Great job on the Kamov Dan!

You can't really go past the French for making ugly aircraft! If you say the Mirrage wasn't ugly try putting the plans over the Faiey FD2 and you will find that, other than the intakes it is a pretty good copy of the British design!
