Hello everyone, my name is Adrian , I am 49 , married and living on the Yorkshire coast.  I built my first model when aged six....
it was the AIRFIX Belvedere helicopter.... we were living in Singapore and my dad took me to see the real things at RAF Seletar. Since then I have built about 300 model kits, mostly AIRFIX and mainly aircraft in 1/72 scale, and most of them during the late 1960s and 1970s. This was the period of my modelling that I look back on with affection...building straight from the box for my own pleasure,  and the exciting box art on the AIRFIX, FROG and REVELL kits of the time.
My favourite models in my collection are my FROG Shackleton , FROG Whitley , HASEGAWA PS-1 and LINDBERGH Victor B1.
My favourite scale would have to be 1/96...... small enough to manage big aircraft and big enough to impress.
What would I really like to have........a 1/96 injection Blackburn Beverley.......dream on....
In recent years I joined the IPMS and helped to start up a local model club.
Consequently I was not happy building straight from the box anymore and started converting and detailing every model I built..........this unfortunately has stiffled my model turnout and taken some of the fun out of it.
What I have seen of this AIRFIX Tribute Site so far has inspired me ........... beautifully made vintage models built straight from the box  but with such a variety of colour schemes.
Thank you guys and girls.....................
