Any Airfix Kit, Any Scale, of a military aircraft used in China, India or Burma, or South East Asia during the second world war may be built, presuming we're sticking to my original suggestion? or do people want to open it up RE the dates? Could be a bit vague if we don't stick to WW2 perhaps? _________________ --.. --- -. . / -.-. .- .-.. .-.. / .-- --- --- -.. |

Definitely, from memory, I think the whole SEAC campaign kicked off when Japanese forces invaded Malaya & Thailand. I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong on that, but Japanese planes definitely qualify. For the record, if anyone's stuck for ideas, I have a few kits from the VJ Day set which I'll happily send you for a few pounds. _________________ --.. --- -. . / -.-. .- .-.. .-.. / .-- --- --- -.. |

This could be the excuse I've been looking for to convert a Spitfire IX into Finlay Boyd's MkVIII. Not only that, I have one of the new Airfix 1/72 Spitfire IX's to hand...!

I went ahead and signed up. I'm going to do Tex Hill's camo Flying Tiger P-40E (instead of Robert Scott's). I'll have to assemble the decals from here and there.
...also, could we please get a reminder as to when this will start? _________________ “Build what YOU want, the way YOU want to, and above all, have fun.”

As we're running a little behind, there won't be a start date poll - the GB will run for two months from 9th November. |

I have signed up too. I am not quite sure what to build. Got my eye on a special ops Lysander though.

I know it falls before the formation of SEAC (Nov 1943), but would a Singapore Buffalo count under the CBI bracket? _________________ Bubbly! |

| Would anyone care to suggest some options? This theatre isn't really my area of expertise. I can think of Hurricane, Thunderbolt, some Japanese aircraft, P-40, Hudson possibly... and there my thoughts end. |

You could do Spits as well as they flew over both Burma and India
One was Mk Vc (Trop) MA349 (KW-D) 'Verna June' of 615 Squadron, India 1943
It's featured in the July issue of Model Aircraft Monthly |

Hello?? It's November 9, isn't it?? If not, something is terribly wrong with my watch as well as my computer. Also the sun... _________________ “Build what YOU want, the way YOU want to, and above all, have fun.”

I applied for membership of this GB but note that the usergroup application is still pending. Have I pressed the wrong button somewhere, or is there a button I need to press? I am not too hot with this computer stuff.
