I did a thorough check of my 1/24 Hurricane kit last night. The kit quality looks very good and the plastic looks quite solid, decently moulded and with little flash. I've no idea how old the moulds are but they are bearing up well. The clear parts had been missing when I bought it but luckily for me I got replacements from Rita before Aifix got into difficulties.

The kit has good detail both inside and out and looks reasonably simple to build. I am a bit wary of the model of the merlin engine because on the 1/24 Spitfire 1a this was an absoultely dreadful fit and I ended up leaving it out after much swearing and sanding. I was thinking of trying to adjust the supplied pilot figure into a position where I can have him sitting half in and half out of the cockpit but will see about that if time allows. The detail on the pilot figure is really good and I'd like to use him. I had toyed with the idea of converting this into a Hurricane Mk2 with the 4 x 20mm canons but I think that will be a project for another day!

I got some more Hurricane photos at the Duxford Spitfire Anniversary (Spitfires were grounded due to high winds- gutted) last weekend and they look quite useful. I will post them in the reference section soon.

More later.

Your a brave man going for 1/24 on a group build .. respect!

I look forward to seeing the progress, which may hopefully inspire me to get going on one of my Airfix 1/24 kits.

Good luck

Hey guys. Sorry I vanished from the forum. I went on holiday and then got sick! I've just got back to normality this weekend so I am going to make a start on the model tomorrow and will report my progress.

Hi Spodders,
Haven't heard much from you recently, the deadline is the 15th November so we need to try to get every one cleaned up and finished by then!

I Hope you've recovered from your ilness!

The Thread has been locked, as the GB is over and we haven't heard anything from Spodders.
