Looking good.

I'll bring the Gazelle decals with me when we meet up at Margate.

:fear:  On Photobucket I've created a folder for my builds.

Within that main folder are sub folders for each subject (1- Airfix 1/72 GR3 Harrier Build, 2- Airfix AMSIG SMW 2010 Builds, etc.).

Within the SMW 2010 folder I have another three folders, one for each of the builds.

When I downloaded the latest photos I started a folder for my next build (Filmstars Build) in readiness for the start of the build. It was then that I realised I hadn't numbered the SMW 2010 folder so I edited the name and put the number in. As I hadn't moved the position of the folder and no warning came up to say the links might be corrupted I didn't bother checking that the photo posts were still intact as I assumed they would be  . In hindsight after the trouble I had with the 'Margate' photos on Photobucket I shouldn't have assumed that and should have checked. I now have another name for Photobucket  :angryfire: but obcenities quite rightly aren't allowed in the posts.

I've now redone the links for the Kamov and will do the same for the Lynx and the Gazelle over the next couple of days.

I know what you mean James-a-j, every so often I'll be browsing and find a picture of mine is a dead link and that Photobucket had kindly re-organised my photos  :hithead: .  Keep meaning to switch over to something stable but there are too many links to port.

The Kamov is looking great in white btw :D .

Funny you should say that. I was thinking the same. I think Ratch recommends Picturetrail and I never see any problems with his posts. My idea is to start using it for all new posts from a certain point and switch over the old posts gradually, one subject at a time. I don't have anywhere near as many photos on here as you so for me it shouldn't be too much of a problem but I fear you may still be switching over when you start drawing your old age pension  :( .

Thanks for the compliment on the Kamov. That's the one I spoke to you about briefly at Margate. Just the six coats of white  . Mind you I did manage to keep them thin and not lose the detail  :) .

I think the same rules apply to all picture hosting sites. If you move a picture to a new folder(album) or rename a picture or folder after you have posted a link to a forum, the forum can't find it.

The link you post is a unique reference, there is no mechanism on the picture hosting sites to recalculate the link.

I would love to be able to re-organise and rationalise my Picturetrail account (and reduce my storage costs) but I fear my entire contribution to this forum would then become a series of Red Xs which would take a week's work to reinstate.

Colin

Colin is right. I learned the lesson of moving pictures early on. Now my files are organised, but I have to be disciplined in where I store the images and not move them about

Just remember to keep an eye on your old links just because you have not changed them doesn't mean that photobucket won't do it randomly every so often   .

Thanks for the tip, John, I'll remember to do that (I hope  :? ).
